Hi -- not sure that I would do this, but what are you thoughts in putting a sunroof in the van? I have never used all those compartments up there (sun glasses area, coin holder, garage door opener, etc.). Just curious if anyone had put one in later in the life of the car. I know that doing so just opens it up to leaks, etc. and could do more harm than good, especially when it comes time to trade it in. Thanks! Narmeen

If you let a pro do it it will add value. If your speaking of the universal drop ins than they may make it drop in value.. If you want a sunroof get one. As far as trade in value. It wont really make a big deal.. Just wont too first check out were the T BAR is. If its in the way you may haft to modify.. To keep the roof strong and so it wont rattle on the HWY..

I bought my 96 Windstar new. My wife said she wouldnt drive one without a sunroof or cd player. I had the dealer install a moon roof and it came with a cd player. The moon roof was a great idea. It closes when you alarm the car in case you forget and if a hand or arm is in the way it bounce open again. I dont know of any year they were stock. It does not interfere with the roof rack either. They did have to move the air duct and the interior dome light but no problems at all. No rust either. If I had one complaint its if its open to far with the windows open you here an annoying low pitch wind noise. Its only noticable when windows and roof are open in a certain position. My wifegot used to driving it and now will not go back to a car only an SUV or the Windstar. I know I paid $900.00 in 96 so im not sure what they cost now. I would reccomend having it done as the headliner has to be a real chore to replace.
