I will now wear my Adidas as a memorial to the guys who started the rap game.

I never stopped rockin' the Adidas... I love the new shell tops!
That sucks that Jam Master Jay is dead... From the start, Run DMC was all about nonviolence and anti-gang rap, so it's a shame to see one of them murdered in cold blood... Wonder what the motive is.

Yeah, I heard about this today :( Very, very sad. As most of you know, I am much more a metal head than a fan of rap and hip hop, but I loved Run DMC's first two albums very much. Rap, in what was to me its infancy, had so much character and style, as they worked it like nobody else. Just like Metallica will never again be the band it was in 1988, Run DMC's earliest work is a tribute to a genre encapsulated in its earliest phases of evolution. The work is absolutely classic, and speaks for itself.
It is sad, more generally, how many great artists the music industry loses tragically before their time. Another name for the pile :(

I couldn't have said it better myself JD.
That was nice.
I heard about it on the radio this morning. On the rock of all stations, a local station that is VERY VERY into heavy rock Music. Anything Rap related is avoided or ridiculed.
Execpt this. They even played a few RUN DMC tracks in tribute. As well as some Aero Smith.

"Walk this way" perhaps? That had to have been the best rock/rap collaboration in the history of music!

I don't know who he is- but anyone dying the way that he did is tragic and cold-blooded :(

They just played it at the end of the 6pm News. Along with Video footage of Jam Master J, mixed with still photos.
And finnished with shots of people out side his home lighting candles and placing flowers.
