My 93 suburban started shifting hard into second a while back- Now it seems to slip in reverse and in first gear. Well ive been looking for a rebuilt tranny but now my ignition lock cylinder gets stuck when the car is on- You cant turn the truck off!!! I had to turn the key foward making the starter gear squeel just to get the key to turn off and get the key out.
Now does this sound like a bad tranny and a bad cylinder lock-
or-
Could the actuall ignition switch be going out and making my tranny act up??
UGH-- I just dont know where to start:banghead:

Sounds like two seperate problems, one being much more expensive than the other. We don't do transmissions at my shop, and it's been a while since I took the class, but I think first and reverse share a band or clutch. Will probably need a complete rebuild... take it to a tranny shop to be sure.
