Ok, here's the deal. I realize it was my own stupidity getting this ticket and i know i deserve it. I was driving my 1969 Chevelle i had just purchased in the last few weeks down the highway and decided to open it up and see what it could do....not many cars on the highway. It ends up with me getting pulled over and getting yelled at to get out of the car and told that if the officer wasnt on his way to i crash i would be getting arrested. I end up with a ticket for going 99 in a 70. What would be the best way to get the ticket reduced and hopefully not get my license suspended?(That would mean losing my job at the automotive shop i work at.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

11. Any person violating the provisions of this section is guilty of a class C misdemeanor, unless such person was exceeding the posted speed limit by twenty miles per hour or more then it is a class B misdemeanor.

Missouri law is hard to follow but it seems that this is only a 3 point offense. I would call the DMV and find out how many points. I do not think this one ticket will end up a suspension but you are likley to see a major increase in your insurance. Usually you can find an attorney to handle a speeding ticket for around 300. This is probably a lot cheaper that paying the extra insurance for three years.

Usually your license doesn't get suspended until you reach a certain amount of points (12 in Colorado i believe). Sounds like this is your first one so yes, prepare for an insurance spike, 3 or so points and a $150 fine or something. My sole ticket was doing 65 in a 30 when I was 18. Didn't get arrested, just a ticket with a date in court, followed by 3 or 4 points i think, and like a $200 fine. I'm now 23 and my 6 month premium is around $1250 (primarily because of this one ticket) and is just now about to go down some on my July renewal. I've yet to meet someone get arrested for just speeding. That only happens when you're testing the governor's limits.:naughty:

I've had three tickets prior to this(only two were moving violations). Thats why I'm worried about the suspension bit, and the point limit is 8 in Missouri. But someone informed me of a lawyer they have used countless times, to get out of tickets(one of which was 161 in a 50 on his sportbike) so I think im just going to go that route and end up spending about 400 dollars to keep my license and my job. Thanks for the help everyone.
