Greedy industries, I wish a slow painful death to all insurance companies.

I am sick to death of these money driven arrogant insurance companies.

Hear me out.

Two weeks ago my brother's car got hit by someone else, a 17 year old female, she pulled out in front of him without looking, scratched her car but fucked my brothers up.

Our panel beater (family) said it would be about 3k, easy, but the insurance companie, went on PHOTOS that were taken at NIGHT, and put their claim over $6,200, and just wrote the car off (even though it's insured for $7,000).

We rang the police, they won't give us the other persons details (she was legally at fault), we rang the insurance company, they said we have to ring the police WTF.

To top it off, not only to we lose our car because some bitch decided to be impatient and hit my brother, but now our insurance company are now telling us they will only pay out what the damage is.

I'm pretty sure that's not legal, we're getting our solicitor involved, and my brother snapped at them told them they're a pack of terrorists, and you know what? He's 100% fucking correct.

Exactly - take the insurance cheque, buy the car back from the wreckers get it fixed for $3k and pocket the difference.

I don't know, if someone told me my truck was a total and I didn't think it was I'd fight it as well, but it depends on the amount of heavy damage ie frame, pillars, things like that. Sometimes a car being declared a total can be a disguised blessing, when you really tweak a car it never drives right again.

We're taking the money and buying a new car, but they insurance companie are fighting for what is in the car.

My brother put rims on it, but never put it on the insurance claim, but they are saying they are the rims on the claim, and they're also claiming the sound system as theirs too.

We had a massive QQ at them and they finally gave up after our solicitor talked to them and we got the rims and the sound system back.

Such a shame, it was a nice car, you don't find manual VS commodores in good nik these days.

So little damage, yet they wrote it off.

See if you can find out what becomes of it - you could buy it back from a wreckers still.

You can get in serious trouble if you get mouthy with your insurance agent- a friend of mine did it, and he got blacklisted. For 2 years he paid doulbe insurance no matter where he went because it was in the computer as him being a trouble maker.

they charged him access eventhough it wasn't his fault and we proved it (access is 2 grand), our solicitor had a word with them and they were forced to pay us.

We also got his tires back too. Car is gone, but at least we got the rimmzz

do you mean "excess"?
if so, then that amount, which should be clearly stated on your policy is what the holder has to pay no matter who is at fault; at least that is how it works here in the UK. The amount of excess payment you have to pay is part of what determines the cost of your cover. High excess naturally means lower rate.
Seeing as how high the excess is ($2000) it sounds to me like they were sold the wrong policy in the first place. I would like to know what kind of words the solicitor had that would make them forfeit the excess payment considering that it is am agreed on amount as set out in the policy.
