I am looking for a cheap new headliner for my 84 Z28 thats wrapped with black, just standard. The lowest price i found was on www.carupholsteryguys.com for $ 196.10 with it shipped to me. Anybody else know where i can get it cheaper ?? because 20 bucks is still alot of money where i come from.
Any help is much appreciated.

If it is a non T top car you can do it yourself easily. Check an upolstry shop for the material and the auto parts store for 3M spray on trim adhesive.

you can try it yourself, but if the padding is crumbling apart then your dunbar.

Not at all. You use a stiff bristle brush and scrub off the old foam. The new headliner material will come with the foam bonded to it.

I did one last summer here in coastal GA and it is holding "up" nicely. Temps were near 100 and humidity around 80% or more.

True, but I have found that no matter how much you clean it up with the brush, and clean up afterwards, there's always little specs of it that the new foam doesn't like to adhere to.

Check E bay. There's a guy on there that sells the plastic ABS headliners in your choice of colors for about $150. I got one from him a couple years ago and it is a great piece.

Then its time to scour the junkyards to see if you can find one in good shape that won't fall apart as you try to remove it and recover it.

Buy some thin aluminum sheet metal, cut it to fit and cover it with whatever fabric you want with some spray/tube adhesive. Then screw it into place.
