Idk what is up these days. I want a new job. i want out of the fast food industry. I've applies to UPS, Roundy's, USPS, you name it, I applied as long as they pay decent.

What i dont understand is why i cant get these jobs? i mean, i was given a job by my aunt to work in fast food. seems like im not working material or something to them. its getting on my last nerve, as i need all the cash i can get while i start college next year and im trying to move out.

its getting on my nerves. i feel like i want to get paid for what im worth, but i cant just leave my other job until i get a new one. driving me insane.

thats the end of my rant. that is all.

Go and do a short course so you have some skills. That should increase your chances dramatically.

also remember that right now they are in the summer months and have filled all the temp. positions. I realize you probably don't want a temp position, but it will get you a foot in the door, then once they realize your potential will hopefully hold on to you. wait until the end of summer as some places will have job openings (kids go back to school out of state). just keep your head up man.

You have fast food experience, the only new job you're going to land easily is going to be in that industry. Fill out an application and let someone review it for you, there might be something you are writing down that can be causing a problem. Make a resume and attach that to your applications so that you stand out a little bit, and get some good references (from older people maybe family friends or managers that your aunt knows).

I'll 3rd the "get some skills" idea. When I was younger I worked every crappy job from fast food to grocery store's and being a janitor. Finally got sick of it and went to a tractor trailer training school to learn how to drive trucks, once I had my CDL license I had a job within a week and made $42k that year. Cost me about $1800 for the school, I took out a student loan and paid $82/month after I got my new job. The class took like a month. Not saying you want to do that since you're going to college but theres a lot of training classes you can take.

Security guard license is $100 and its like a 3 hour course at any community college. Starting pay is around $10-$13/hour.

Make a resume...

A good resume can get your foot in the door just about anywhere. Even if all your skills are in fast food if you put together a good resume your chance for getting highered will magnify 10 fold. When explaining your dutes at work start with active words like helped, trained, or managed. Make sure you use numbers. Remember How much, how many, and how often. Employeers are always impressed by a clean thought out resume, even if your work experience dosent apply to the job. PM me if you want so me help.

Looking for jobs is a numbers game. The more applications you put in the better your chances will be, persistence pays off for sure. Just keep trying and looking. Some of the jobs you mentioned are hard for anybody to get, even eith experience. I don't know where you live or whats available. Broaden your search, meaning look into other types of jobs. Its sucks trying to find a job when you get labeled as being a fast food worker or whatever you do. Some of these poeple act like you can't learn to even do anything else. Good Luck!

hmmm. sounds like so far i got

1) make a resume
2) look for errors on application forms

im thinking about doing the whole manpower thing, so how does that exactly work out with all of this? i mean i know that i can get some valuable references from these companies and things but what should i look for?
