Hi I am thinking about purchasing a 1998 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4.6 Liter 8 cylinder. What have been your experiences with this car? It currently has just under 100k miles.
Thanks
Thanks

I bought a 98 about year ago.
It has been a very reliable vehicle.
I did have problems with the air compressor for the air shocks.
I had to replace the compressor which cost I think about $130.
I also had problem with a vacuum line that runs from the EGR valve to the rear of the engine and connects just below the IAC (idle air control)valve.
Mine was missing and when I went to the ford dealer for a new one, they sold me one that was not even close to fitting!!
Once replaced though, all was fine.
I'm very happy with mine.
I got it for a steal. $2500 as that is what the original owner owed the bank!
I could have turned around the next day and tripled my money but I figured I'd like the vehicled and I did so it is in everyday use now!
Thanks

I have a 97 with 130,000 miles on it and I have had no major problems with it. Just small things here and there. I had to replace both lower ball joints and the pitman arm, but other than brake changes, no other problems. My wife drives the truck most of the time. The latest problem I came across was that it wouldn't shift out of park. It turned out to be a broken wire on the brake light switch. Like I said, no major problems. It's been a good truck!:grinyes:
