'99 - vibration while driving/braking

For some time now this has been getting worse.I thought maybe it was tire balance and have yet to determine that.I am in need of new tires and doing that Wed.
I wanted to make sure it was not a brake issue so I had those checked out and my front rotors and pads are like new.I had them instaled not long ago anyway but just wanted to rule that out.
I also took a look at the calipers and they are fine as well.

What is doing this?!

I feel the driving/shaking is from tire balance.Im almost sure of that.
The braking/shaking on the other hand is bad and I cant find the problem.
Anyone have other ideas?

Back are drum and brand new as well as the shoes.

well what you want to do it bring ur car into a well certified shop and ask for a front end inspection and alignment. i have a 95 taurus and i had the same issue come to find out i had a ball joint and tie rod going out on the right side and once i finished it and got it aligned the shake went away.

also ask them to put it on a lift first and run it at about 45-65mph that way they can varifie the shake

I have been wondering if it is a CV issue and if this is going to cost me some coin.I already need new tires anyway but if I have to add a major fix in this, it's going to hurt.

well its possible it is a cv axle thats what i thought but i replaced them both and it didnt help at all... umm i have no idea i live in alaska so the rates up here are alot different down there...also i own a shop so i do it all my self.. call a local shop and for a bid on a front end inspection and diog the shake.. most shops give an hour diog time . so proabably 1.5 hours in figureing out whats wrong.. 2-5 fixing problems and then alignment. thats just ball parking it though.. ur looking about 250-1k$ depending whats wrong.. i know its a rough estement but i donno shop rates down there.

Don't rule out a warped brake rotor for the braking vibration (if the vibration changes during braking). I've seen brand new rotors that are warped due to improper stacking. Also, debris can get behind the rotors when they are installed and cause nasty vibrations. If there is debris between the rotor had and the hub, it can set up a NASTY vibration, depending on the size of the debris.

Do you notice the vibration in the steering wheel, in the entire car, or both?

This is just something I feel in the front end.I feel it shake when driving on the freeway and then when I brake it does it also.
It seems I am having 2 instances of shaking.One when driving and another while braking.This is what is making it hard to determain what it is.That is why I feel the shaking while dring may be from bad tires but as for the braking....I checked them out pretty good and checked calipers as well.Everything seemed solid.

Calipers would not likely cause the vibration when braking, but warped on improperly seated rotors certainly will. With the car properly supported on jackstands, the transmission in neutral, and the wheels removed, install a dial indicator to measure the runout. Check the runout for both the front and back surfaces of the rotor, and check all 4. There is a runout spec for the rotors that I can look up for you tomorrow evening when I have a bit more time.

Usually when you have a rotor that is warped or bent and apply brakes you can feel the steering wheel shake. First, make sure the rotors are good then go from there.

Allowable runout on front rotors (on vehicle) is 0.06 mm maximum (0.0024 inch) and for rear is 0.10 mm maximum (0.004 inch).
