Speaking of dash lights...

I was gonna post this under the other 'dash lights' topic, but I didn't want to steal his thread. Anyway, I would just like to know why in the world a company would make a car where the needles do not emit any light whatsoever in the instrument panel??? I'm not sure how many years they built them this way or if it's just my car ('94 SL2), but c'mon. Sure the needles are white, but it doesn't make up for much at night...especially on roads without any roadside lights. I believe I also have a bulb burnt out behind the right side of the speedometer..so that doesn't help matters. Btw, does anyone know if replacing bulbs like that is as simple as popping off the trip around the instrument panel and digging in?
Ok, I'm done whining.

Some ( few ) can be changed as you suggest however it is not that difficult to unplug the connectors and remove the bolts holding the instrument cluster in to get it out. Just take your time...
