I have a 03 Yukon Denali that just went out of warranty about 7K ago. Had it in for final inspection, some routine maintenance done, etc. Well tonight on the way home I noticed that the engine was turning a lot more RPMS than normal. It did not take me long to realize that the transmission was in 3rd and not O/D. Nothing I could do would make it shift into O/D. Well I finally got stopped it traffic, and noticed that it was very sluggish trying to move, I manually dropped it into frist, but I then noticed that it was in second.. http://www.powerboatparty.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif and would not go into first either.. I shut the vehicle off, and tried again, still only second and third, no first or O/D. When I got home I checked the tranny fluid level (just changed it about 20K ago) and it was fine and did not smell burnt. I'm lost here, and do not have the funds to replace a tranny in this thing.. Also there is no service light on, but I'm going to have a scanner ran to see if there are any codes in the ECM.

Anyone have any ideas???

Well I have a code 745 which is a "Pressure Control Solenoid Malfunction" :banghead:

Is this a major pain to change???

Thanks in advance!

Usually the pcs will not cause a loss of 1st and o/d. This should be scanned at a trans shop with their special software to look at solenoid functions, slippage errors and gear ratio errors. This could be a solenoid or an internal failure.

I thought that I read that if certain codes are set in the tranny, that it will start out in 2nd gear.

I could be wrong, but that is what I recall.
