need to move out

so i'm moving out next year for school and it can't come soon enough. i spent 4 years at a boarding school where i was away from my parents for the majority of the year, i'm just finishing up my first year of university and i can't stand them. first there's my mom, she's always trying to convert me, she doesn't know i'm atheist but she know's i'm "slipping in my faith". then there's my dad, busting my balls over small stuff, and just generally being annoying. it was great during boarding school because i didn't have to deal with them all the time but now that i'm back i can't stand it. yes i know they're the ones that are paying for my meals and whatnot but it's just so annoying being around them, i spend as much time away from home just for that, i avoid meals with them just to stay away. i can't stand life with them, and i'm sure our relationship will get better when i spend less time with them.

money, they're paying for my housing, the deal was that they'd pay for either a car to get to university or residence (i.e. university res or an appartment/house) so i'm shopping for a place with some buddies for next year.

Could be worse mang. I'm about to be 23, still living with my parents cause i screwed up my college career royally the first time around. Just think that when you're my age, you'll be graduating with your engineering degree, making money, have your own place to take the ladies home to, yadda yadda. Just deal with it for now ;)

yeah i realise it could be alot worse, my sister was living here until 26, and i'm sure i'd be able to deal with it really well if i knew i had to deal with it, it's just that in 4 months i'll be moving out and i won't have to deal with any of it (obviously there'll be different things to deal with) and it's kind of getting to me.

i'd be careful about moving in with school friends....
the reality isn't always as good as the dream.
sometimes, it's better at university to live with other students who aren't neccessarily your friends or class-mates.

normally i'd agree with you about that but i went to a boarding school and pretty much lived with them for 2 years (they only went for 2) so i'm pretty sure it'll work out well.

if you think living with the parents is bad, just wait until you get roommates and a landlord. when you do get a place with roomies just make sure the lease isn't in your name.

just make sure the contract is legit and covers your ass.
tenents (in the uk at least) have a lot of rights that the contract usually tries to void. first step is to find out what rights you have and then make sure that any contract doesn't go out of their way to remove those rights.
just because they are your landlord, it doesn't mean they own you.

Yea im having the same thing, but not moving out till a year from now. The main thing is just keep out of the house, keep yourself busy. thats what i do. weither it be with school, or friends or something.
As far as church goes. well my parents are christian and well im not. and they dont know. but when religion does come up *as it does* in converstation i just ignore them and change the subject.
and as far as your dad goes. well if hes on your case about the small stuff tell him to back off. i was having alot of problems with my dad, and then i decided to move out, and then i talked to my parents and we both came to an agreement right now isnt the best time to move out. and i basically told my dad he was an asshole we worked everything out, and things are alot better at home.
anyways. best of luck ^^
