1999 Monte Carlo - Lights Lights and no more lights

We have a 1999 monte carlo. The turn signals no longer work. The break lights dont work except the rear deck break light. The 4 way flashers work.

Can anyone help me dignose the problem with the lights?

You might check all your bulbs, make sure they are ok. You might check fuse # 30 and # 5, but I don't think that is your problem, I don't never get that lucky.

Your high-mount brake lamp isn't wired through the turn signal switch, but the lower brake lamps are. Your turn signal and brake lites work off the same bulb filiment, just not at the same time. On the right side brake lite, the dark green wire at the bulb socket should be hot, when the brake is applied, if it isn't hot, you'll have to backtrack the circuit to the turn signal switch. If it is hot, check the black wire for a good ground. If you test or replace the turn signal switch, there may be some safety issues because of the air bag.

your problem is definitely the turn signal/multifunction switch. It's a very common problem on these cars, and causes the exact symptoms you describe.
