I have a 2003 cavalier. I have no daytime running lights and low beam, but do have high beam. Replaced all lights but still the same problem. When I turn on engine, Green running light on dash flickers a few times, and than the service engine light comes on... Anyone??

DRL fuse? check it, it's the big black one in the fuse box INSIDE of the car, driver side panel...

I yanked mine out cuz I didn't want drls. They were a shitty yellow color that I did not care for :)

I think it is in the wiring. My 99 Cavalier is having almost the exact same problem. But my daytime running lights aren't working, When I turn on my headlights I have low beams. but only one high beam. I tried changing the bulb, relay switch, dimmer switch, still nothing. A friend and I have spent days trying to figure it out. We messed around w/ the wiring and now I have a big mess. my driverside has the low beam and my passenger has a high beam. only one head light at a time... I think the best thing to do, might be take it to a Chevy dealer and let them fix it.

I can almost guarantee that it's the wire splices down behind the washer fluid bottle. Take the left front wheel off, cowling and take out the washer fluid jug and you'll see a harness running behind it. Check around the splices, chances are you'll see corroded green wires. Cut out the bad sections and solder in some new wire. I don't know how many J-cars I've had in for that problem at the dealership and 9 times out of 10 that's what it is.

I have a 2003 Cavalier LS Sport Coupe that had much of the same problems. I took it to my local mechanic, and he found a short in the wireing harness.
