I have a 2002 caravan W/ 3.3l engine, I was sitting in a parking lot with the van idleing and the CEL came on after that the trans was stuck in 2nd gear prior to the light coming on there were no issues it shifted perfect. The obd2 codes were something about the engine speed sensor, just wondering if anybody has seen anything like this or has any helpful insight for me. I dont want to change the trans, hoping maybe valve body or trans computer................. Thanx For Any Help i can get

is the speedo working or not? VSS(vehicle speed sensor) are sometimes a problem, causing the vehicle to go into "limp" mode.if it is the VSS easy to replace.

It is either the input or output speed sensor on the tranny . You would have to pull the codes to see which one , either case consider yourself lucky these generally are not too expensive and their is nothing mechanically wrong with t he tranny , just one of the sensors has gone south . The sensors are like $13 a piece online , if you go to the dealer it will probably be twice that plus the labor which will be double that again, in either case I would think it would be less than $100 but i dont know what they get for flat rate for that job in which most dealers get at least $70 an hour now.
