:( I got another ticket...

Driving from the bank to work the other day, A cop pulls up behind me at night and paces me while im just cruising at 60 mph (45mph zone)

I wonder if there is any way to beat a ticket where they paced me... I didn't ask to see the radar... I forgot this time :p

Ah well... thats ticket #3 in one year... I already got a warning letter from the DMV after the last one...

How many points does one ticket add?

Should be one, but if this is your third then your high risk right now, one more and you loose your licence, after that if you get another you go to jail.

I'm not sure how Cali's DMV laws are applied so hopefully this will be somewhat relevant.

If I'm not mistaken, 3 violations in one year should result in a suspension of your license. How long will be dependant on how many points you have on your license already.

On the back of the summons, it should show how many points are taken off your license. It should also show how much your ticket will be, depending on how over the limit you are.

You could possibly fight the ticket if he didn't clock you with a radar. The thing that you have to be lucky is that hopefully he didn't calibrate his speedometer. If so, you can argue that you weren't going that fast and would like to see proof of when his car was last inspected. Sometimes, they don't check their cruisers like they are suppose to and usually you can get off with that. Either way, you lose nothing but time if you go fight it, so give it a shot.

Its easy to get off in jersey.... dont pay the ticket, go to court, they prosecuter will see how old you are and since no one wants to spend the money for everyone to be there they cut it in half. my last ticket gave me 4 points (i was doin 85 in a 45) It was originaly $150 I only had to pay $65. It depends on how much and where. If you're doin 35 in a school zone you're screwed. a friend of mine was doin that and was charged with endangering minors and got a ticket of $300 gotta be careful with that shit......

So I guess I would have to request the records for when his speedo was last checked right? Can I do that myself, or do you think I will need a lawyer?

In any case, I'm going to postpone the ticket until I cant postpone paying it anymore, then challenge it, and try to postpone the court date until I can't postpone that anymore... Should have a few months or so eh?

What really sucks is the guy comes through the drive thru where I work sometimes and I always hook him up with extra fries and stuff... I pointed that out when he pulled me over, and he said he would have let me off, but supposedly I flew past his supervisor or something :(

I was going about 70mph in a 60mph dual carrigeway, and I suddenly saw they had installed a new camera! It was too late to slow down, so I just sped up (I was driving my brothers Lamborghini Countach) and rocketed past the camera. It was a very old battered one, that must have been taken from somewhere else, as by the time it had made its first flash, it could just see my wheels! CLOSE ONE

Sorry to hear about your ticket! You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I drive a lot during work and watch police officers ignore the most blatant infractions. Last month, one of Anaheim finest was in front of me at a stop light, and 3 cars did the slow roll (California stop) through the red while turning right, and what did this fine officer do, just ignored them.

I saw a cop do that same crap :( I'm driving normal, obeying all the laws, and some nut cuts around me in the middle of an intersection... I watch my rearview and wait for the cop who was on the side road to come after him... it never happens :(

I'm really dissapointed in the cops these days, and before. When I was 4 I saw my first rape...from my house, across the street in an alley, as the guy was draging her away, my mom called the cops, she was beaten ,raped, and tossed into a dumpster. The cops came 2 hours later, took a quick report and didnt check out there till the next day :rolleyes:

And this is the police force i'm going to try out for...maby I will at least do my part and be 1 out of 900 doing my job:(

Heh, I thought about being a cop for a while, but realized it wasn't for me... They take so much crap from everyone, your basically "The Enemy" wherever you go, and I have heard the pay isn't too great...

Plus I was smoking lots and lots of weed then, and didn't want to have to give it up :p

Sounds like my friend Steve... if he's not getting tickets for wheelies/excessive speeding/not coming to a complete stop he's getting parking violations. How he still has a liscense is beyond me... :o

I dont do drugs, never have, hopefully never will, did drink alot but stoped over a year ago.

And the pay is 50-60 grand a year starting, so yah thats good enough for me :D

Right now I make 8 grand a year or so :(

So for me its everything I want, money, adventure, and the possability of making a difference, at least to a few people if nothing and noone else.

50-60 grand? Starting? Wow... what part? Highway Patrol, or city cop (or whatever they are called)

The best reason for being a cop would be the cars... don't they have supercharged LS1s in them? Thats what I've heard anyways...

Hehe, I'm manager now, so I just sit in the office most of the time, and have the crew stock their stations/do the work...

Every other manager does it, so I don't feel too bad being lazy sometimes :p

Still want to get a different job tho... I just got a raise to $8/hr... my friend from highschool says she just got a job at a pie company place making $8/hr and she isn't a manager or anything... grrr

So yah, city cop. Highway Patroll starts roughtly the same I think, but you need to be 35 to get in THANK YOU GRAY DAVIS! :mad:

Ummm....no more caprices, yes they did have LT1's but they were n/a. The crown vics do make some more power than a normal 4.6 but its like a low 15 sec crown vic I believe. In any case it dosent matter, it would be fun rallying around anyway.
