today i went to Mc Ds to get some food as im enjoying my meal some broad behind me tells me im not supposed to eat meat on fridays, then rants about jesus something about a cruxificion, another thing about me buying a one way ticket to hell then heres the good part the bitch had the nerve to tell me that my parents didnt raise me right. needless to say i kinda went off on her Sam kinison style she tried to rebuff with the respect my elders BS which only made me madder. the people that were there clapped. as she was getting to leave i told her "at least in hell we wont have to deal with your conservative bullshit" people started laughing then they clapped once she walked out.

best part about this is i get a free meal for my inconvinience :iceslolan

I've had people approach me while I was standing in the mall waiting for my wife to come out of a store and they start preaching to me saying I am going to go to hell because I told them I don't go to church when they asked. I told one guy hes going to get shot walking up on someone like that. Another guy asked why I don't go to church and I said I'm a satanist, in reality I wasn't raised with a religion at all so I just don't care.

that's retarded, sure have your own faith, maybe even try to talk to people about it, but don't force it down their throats because it won't get you anywhere with them. i don't get why people can't understand that shoving religion down someone's throat will only make them despise the church more.

my mom's going on a bit of a religious crusade because it's lent (the time before easter) and she knows i'm not all that religious anymore. what she doesn't know is that i'm not religious at all and don't believe any of it right now. her time's being wasted and i want to tell them but don't want to deal with them because i have to live here until next year when i move out. i'll probably tell them before easter so that i don't have to go to those 5 or 10 freaking hours of church.

I hate people like that too. My parents aren't to religious so I dont have to worry about that too much.we will go to church everyonce in a while, but no ttoo often.

I love it when they go door to door trying to pass out religious pamphlets. My neighbors have a rottweiler, they let him out in the yard when they know they are in the area. Its great, the dog is friendly as hell, but no one goes in their yard when the dog is out. They come knock on my door instead, the last time I answered the door with a beer in my hand (it was 9am) and asked them what the hell they wanted. They left in a hurry. Congrats on the free meal, would have loved to see that.

Talking smack about the family is definitely crossing the line IMO, I would have found it incredibly difficult to control myself had I been in your shoes. When I know they're in the neighborhood i put in a porn vid and start it real loud just before I answer the door and then pretend to be real interested in what they say so they don't leave too soon.

i kind of wish we had those around here just to have fun.... almost i'm sure i'd get annoyed after the first 10 or 20 times, although i'd have alot of fun with them for that period of time. I guess jahova's whitnesses and mormons aren't as prevalent in canada, i've only ever had one religious person come to the door and he was asking for my sister for some reason, weird thing is that she's a devout catholic so i don't understand why he'd ask for her.

:lol: :lol: i used to keep track when they came around once i sprayed myself with stage blood and soaked my buddy with it and soaked a knife as well, when i opened the door they were non chalant about it till they saw my buddy in the hallway screaming bloddy murder i closed the door and smacked 2 pieces of wood to make it sound like gunshots. i opened up the door again and they all split. they called the cops but we told them we were making a horror movie and they caught us in the moment but he told us the girl that was with the group went into shock i felt bad after i found out about that:frown:

Interesting... I'm primarily an agnostic but familiar with the practice of Lent so...

Lent is primarily associated with catholicism and the practice of giving up something during the days between Ash Wednesday and Easter isn't necessarily one that is universal amongst Christians. Many folk may give up chocolate, meat, alcohol or some other item of personal reward or even may choose to give up time toward the community instead.

Historically, it was a period associated with fasting, repentence and considering ones own transgressions.

Lent isn't universal to all denominations indeed there are mant Christians who argue that the bible suggests that fasting is to be done in private rather than publicly displayed as some sort of badge. Lent is supposedly about penitence ie considering your own transgressions rather than pointing out the errors of others.

Sounds like another do-gooder with apparent ignorance of the core of the message about Lent - it's not about the fasting or abstinence from meat it's about seeing the error in your ways not others...

I was raised Catholic but haven't been to church in years. My dad is about to be an ordained Deacon. I'm familiar with Lent but it has become quite apparent that I don't participate in church matters. Giving up meat on Fridays during Lent is just one of the many hypocrasies of what the true meaning (as stated above) of this time. People no longer bother with telling me I'm going to hell, because I speak plainly that they should mind their own fucking business. People don't like when you speak to them as if they're not important when they think they are. When those religious thumpers come to my house, and I answer the door I swing it shut and say get off my property. Or, if my wife answers the door, she'll do the same thing and I'll say "who the fuck was that?" loud and on purpose after I realize who it was so they don't come back. It's worked so far. It is not in my practice to be rude to strangers; however, I strongly believe that religion is a personal matter and only an individual can truly come to their own decisions about what they believe. I am strongly against the pushing of one's hypocritical so-called Christian beliefs upon others.

Yeah, I run into people like that too. I let it all go in one ear and out the other. If they persist, I tell them I believe in Satan. That shuts them up REAL quick!! lol
