NO ... at least not for the reasons you think

a speaker (sub) does not HAVE any power, it draws it's power from the amp. Sony and Power acoustic are both lower end brands, I wouldn't trust the power rating of either the sub or the amp. Just turn it up until it sounds bad (distorted) then back it off a little.

As Paul D said, The subs wont blow and your amp wont blow. what happens is the sub draws its power from the amp and all that happens is that the amp dosnt have enough power to push the subs but thats all that happens. so basically it should still sound ok but the sub wont be at its full potetial. so good luck to you!:grinyes:

are you running the power acoustik fubar subs? if so they sound best in a vented enclosure. and the amp your running sucks. you will be underpowering the subs.

They sound best hooked up to a wall socket with smoke pouring out.

You wont blow an amp mainly due to the protection circuit. But if you bypass any of that circuitry you will destroy it. The main things to look for, for issues are shorts, impendance and mounting be careful with all that and your amp will work fine. AS for working with the subs, keep the gains set it doesnt distort and you will be fine.
