Hey guys, I have a 1997 Eclipse GS-T, I am just wondering what the muffler inlet size of my car is, becasue I am going to buy an Apexi N1 but they have two sizes, which are 2.5" and 3". I don't know which one is good for my car, so guys, please help me out~ :grinyes:

BTW, does this bad boy sound good? Is anyone currently using one?

I've heard the N1's are pretty good exhausts but I would never pay as much as they cost... It really depends on what your running to what size you need. Is it still the stock exhaust on this thing or did you already run some 3" piping?... Also are you buying just the muffler or a cat back or a turbo back?

The exhaust is still bone stock and I am thinking just to change the muffler only first, so what size should I get to fit into the stock exhaust? Also, am I gonna have any hp gain if I just change the muffler? :screwy:

I would suggest doing at least a catback. Stock pipe is 2.25" so either way its not going to fit without some modification. I had the N1 on my talon and I liked it, nice deep tone

Yes, you really won't see any gain at all since its still stock piping... I would do at least cat-back if your gonna do it. Turbo back would be even better for ya though.

I agree with what these guys said.

But also you can find some decently priced 2g GST exhausts on ebay. I used that knock off brand Tsudo for my cat back and it sounded great and I think I only paid about 200 and some change for it.

He's got a 2g GST.

I have the N1 on my Talon and I love how it sounds, its not that "ricey" high-pitched sound, it's got a nice deep growl to it, sounds badass I think.

What are your plans with the car? Are you going to be upgrading the turbo and all that good stuff? If you are planning, I'd go with a 3" turbo-back, but if you're just going for a bit of an upgrade for the stock system, I'd go with 2.5" catback.

I have one of these too. Sounds great and holding up really well. Not rusty or anything. :sunglasse But do a cat-back. Only reason for replacing the muffler is for emmissions and sound. Cat-back will do you much better. Plus give a little more punch power-wise.

Ahh I think I get it now. I thought you meant that he could find a stock 2g exhaust off ebay as an upgrade (like for a NT). But you meant that there are a shitload of exhausts on ebay for a gst. My bad I guess.
