Possible Jail Time

Yeah as the title states I could be going to jail. Cant really post much details, cops pretty much already told me my cell phone, computer (that type of thing) are being watched. But it couple "buddies" passing the blame on me for stealing a car, 4wheeling and then arson. I have talk to the Sheriff's arson investigator twice now in less then a week. The first time I talked to him I totally forgot about something that happened and then I remembered and he questioned me about it today. I explained it but he didn't believe me cause i "lied" to him. Sorry its been over a month since this happened, I lost the best girlfriend ever that I might have ask to marry this summer. I work at a trophy shop that does acrylic/glass stuff for companys, and I am the head engraver. So that time of the year was extremly busy with end of the quarter/end of year awards.
I guess theres not much to do but wait...

well if you didn't do it then it will show if/when you go to court. the cops are usually dicks in this type of situation. just don't admit to something you didn't do. also remember the constitution have a 5th amendment and you can refuse to answer the questions if they start getting real intense trying to get you to confess.

Assuming your "buddies" don't know that cell phone is being monitered, call them and cuss them out about it. If the cops really are listening in, they'll effectively have a confession out of them and it further proves that you weren't involved. But grand theft auto, 4-wheeling, and arson? What kind of friends do you have?

Not even suppose to talk about the case between us, I am sure that phones are monitored for that exact thing

Wow. Get a lawyer if you havn't by now...this doesn't seem like a situation you want to be facing alone. It's sad when you realize people you thought were your friends are complete pricks. But if they are letting you get blamed for stuff they did, don't even consider taking the blame for them. Just stick with the truth.

Yeah, dumb ass me has already talked to the cops 3 times. So today I am meeting with a lawyer to try and figure some things out. Right now I am not being charged, its just the sheriff's office investigating so we will see how far this goes. As for friends I believe its just one making crap up, he already owes me $400 for a cell phone bill and the cancelation fee. I signed up in my name cause he didn't have credit, NEVER DO THIS PEOPLE. It can only turn out bad for you

Is this your first offense? I don't know about how they treat cases in Washington (it happened in WA right?) but if you were here in Tallahassee, FL you could probably avoid any real jail time with no priors and a decent lawyer. Seems like you're already learning why it sucks to have to deal with police/lawyers/jail/sherrif... they waste your time as much as possible just before they take your money. Its much easier just to keep your nose clean and stay outta trouble
