Ok, my 3rd HU in the last year, an Alpine CDE-9842. Does a laser just go out for no reason? On Christmas day, it worked fine that morning, then that afternoon it didn't. Any reasons for lasers to go out spontaneously? The HU was bought in July, and has been used for mostly CD's. I dont think im gonna buy another HU from Bestbuy either.

Yea, it does, I had brought it back to best buy for repair, and will be picking it up tomorow, I called on it because the guy who took myy info put in the wrong number and name, I had asked what was wrong and when I said something about the laser, he said something like that. But yea, the radio still worked. I had it on for 2 minutes when i drove a mile and a half, shut the car off for a few hours (2 or 3), went back out and it said disc read error, i tried both burned and regular cd's, neither worked.

are you a bassaholic ? if so, you will have to mount the unit VERY tight or you will vibrate the lens out again.

Yea, kinda, but my sony 800W amp and 2 12" Fosgate HE's dont really produce that much bass, i only had 2 bolt holding it in, now i have all 4, i got it installed today, but the bass levels dont seem to be the same

No, not usually. It is this week cuase I have an unballanced tire cause of snow being in it, but not usually. I need to set my gains levels and such on the amp, i think I will do that tomorow.
