hi, i was looking for a High output alternator. i need one for two reasons. i am putting in a 1600 rms system. and i need a new alternator anyway because mine is dieing, (it puts out only 13.6 volts with headlights on and basically stock set up system half up.)

and i was wondering if anyone has tired. alterstart's one's. i can find a HO alterstart 180 amp one for like 166 bucks. now if i don't get that one i am just going to say f it and call up nathan at excessaive amperage and have him make me for 300 but thats the thing it's 300 bucks.

anyhelp will be apperciated

IVe always heard everyone talk about mean green alternators, and these are about the same price for my s10, check them to see the price difference.

are you sure the alterstart one is made for your car ? The other problem is that most HO alts have VERY little output at idle, I know guys like Nate can special make one that has good output even at idle.

The one they make has 100amps at idle and 200 at higher rpms, there wasnt one listed.

i know this one isn't for your car (it's for mine), but they probably make one for yours. it looks like it has pretty good output at low engine speeds. i'm looking into getting one also. any opinions on this alt?

i still waiting for my price qoute back from them. nathan wants 290 for a 200 amp one. and he says that it comes with overdrive pulley to make it put out more. i might need to ask him how much excatly though on idle, cause that is mine main concern cause my cars rpm is mostly between 1-2.5k and it's automatic so it's not like i can just downshift to keep my rpm up
