ok so i just purchased a sirius radio for my truck, only thing is my cigarette lighter doesn't work. it's not a blown fuse thats the first thing i checked.
so my question is does anyone out there know how to bypass the lighter and just hardwire the power straight into the truck without blowing the unit? any help would be greatly appreciated!

Fix the cig. lighter, it might be a shorted wire, simple fix :), but I think you can wire it straight to the headunit power (usually the red wire), just make sure you ground it (easiest place would be once again to the headunit (black wire)).

if you hard-wire the sirius box, I think the power needs to go to the power lead on the headunit that only gets power when the car is on.

They sell power kits for them, around $20-30 at your nearest Best Buy or Circuit City, and yes, wire it to the radio so it's only powered when the radio is on :). Just got through helping wire one up tonight to a friends car!
