99 prizm - creaking sound

for about a year creaking [slight dull bang] when going over bumps. now the tires are okay [new].

my question is... is there a strut bushing causing this problem?

do you see any oil on the struts. if there is oil the seal has blown when you hit a bump the strut is bottoming out could also be a balljoint
