WTF! this is the second time this has happened - someone has used my bank card to pay for some service. This time it was an AOL Xdrive account. The lady i talked to said that it was started in may and my account had been changed ever since every month, but according to my bank statement, i got charged thrice but all them were in November? wtF?

All i know is, first thing monday is im going to my bank to get a new card. internet security my ass.

fucking thieves. I've had somebody use my card for some bullshit. I had the money refunded and my card number changed.

Steel - what a load of shit from your Bank. Call them up and ask why there were 3 months worth of charges on the one bill. State you have been the victim of fraud and you would like to know what they are going to do to compensate and protect you. If there isn't a lot of bowing and scraping and apologising - and your money refunded, threaten to change banks. And do it if you need to.

Thats happened to me too, at least 99.9% of the time they'll cover every cent and issue you a new card. Pain in the ass though.

I avoid using a credit card or debit card online. I instead use the prepaid cards, costs a little more, but if someone gets the account number all you are out is whatever you had stored on the card, and they can't get more unless you put more on the card. Works pretty good.

That's a good stratagey if you make just a few transactions, but I just use my regular bank card knowing that I'm protected from false charges by federal law. If you notify your bank in a timely fashion, they are required to back the charges out. Don't, however, use your debit cards online. A whole set of different rules there, and it could cause the rent check to bounce.

Yeah someone stole my Dads credit card, started buying guns, lazer sights, and other weapons. Police came, did a report and no charges were made to the card at all. So your bank should be able to help you out if you can show you didnt do the charges.
