I am having trouble with my 1995 ford fiesta Lx 1.1. the car will start everytime no problem but if i tried to pull away when i have sarted it just dies on me and than i have a right game to try starting it again. (usually end up with a couple of guys helping me to push it. the car run absolutly fine when whom, no smoke engine runs smoothly, accerator fine and the power is there when needed (well, at laest for what a 1.1 litre can give). this problem only appear when i start the car from cold. The only remedy i have found so far is to let the car whom up for 5 to 10 min before i even think about moving away. This is starting to really getting on my nerves now and i need to get this sorted. Can anyone please HELP ME!! :banghead:

Could be a temperature sensor problem.
If the car drives perfectly when warm the in all likelyhood it would be connected to the temp sensor in some shape or form.

Hope this helps!

i have this problem too and mines the same age btw. ive just got a question for you-

does your car ever cut out or stall whilst your driving or slowing down for traffic lights or turns? mine does and i dont know what the problem is. it works fine when the weather is warm.

its a classic, dont know if its any different to yours

i think that the answer to kels question is :
theres like this "idle tickover unit thing" lol next to the fuel injector which controls the revs...its gets jammed sometimes and your probally need a new one so describe it to the scrapyard or parts shop and get a garage to fit it for you.
or just get the garage to sort it all. I had the same problem and i had to keep turning the key to get the car to keep going.:banghead:

i sorted the problem out it was the carbirater it was full of junk, had no air getting to it so the car was just running on pure petrol no air to cool it down, thats why it cut out by overheating, now its clean it works a lot better sounds better to and im not using as much petrol lol but the car keeps giving me electric shocks everytimei get out lol need to get a static absorber now lol
