98 Ford ZX2 anti Theft Problem

I am trying to enable the alarm system. When I try the horn and lights flash and beep like it is armed but the ready light does not show and the alarm will not go off for any reason.I cant find specific information on the security system. Fot it being integrated into the OBD2 system is there a way to retrieve a DTC for this system. Any ideas will be helpfull. Thanks

is there a switch under the dash on the drivers side?

To get into the system with a scanner you need a good engine/body capable scanner.
Just a OBD11 scanner may not show much.
As said look for switches and add on remote start or anti theft systems.
Lot of good info on it here. But will cost 24.95$ us for one year sub.
