Brake Booster repair cost

My sister has her 2000 Jetta GL (I think) in the shop right now and has been told the repair cost for her brake booster is $1000 (yes, one thousand dollars). I went by Advance Auto Parts a little while ago to see how much the part itself costs and it's roughly $100. My friend that works there showed me roughly where it should be located (just behind the master cylinder up against the firewall). I don't know any details about what shop she has it in right now, but $1000 seems a bit steep for a $100 part. Does anyone have any experience with this particular part on this car or have a picture of where the break booster is located so I can get some idea of how much labor it would take to get it out? And how much would you expect to pay for this repair?

Sorry for the lack of info, I'll get some more when I talk with my sister.

Thanks.

yes, labor it expensive on theese. Its pays roughly 6hrs of labor to replace because you need to bleed the abs and brake system after replacement. and you need the special tool to remove the rod from the pedal. It wont come out unless you have the special tool, trust me on that one... heh
