Hi, I have a Sil 2001 and its driver's window is stuck. Two weeks ago started to give me a little problems when I took the window down, it didn't want to go up, but after sometimes it came up, but now the window is down and I can't make it up.
Has anyone had any problem like that ?
Thanks

Hi I've has same problem off & on for a couple of years with my '99 Silhouette - I could lower the window (pushing down on switch), but when trying to close (lifting up on swich) - nothing.
For whatever reason, if I lifted up & pushed to the right at the same time, the window would close - some weird switch thing. I haven't replaced anything, but now have the same problem with raising the passenger side window using driver-side switch.
Same thing, if I lift & push right on the switch, it closes.

Had the same problem with our 2000 Silhouette. Had both Window Regulator & Motor replaced on both sides at the tail end of the extended warranty earlier this year. Works like new now, sorry I don't know the costs.

Hi, everyone:
Thanks for your comments, I took the van to the mech and he tested the motor and the switch. Thanks God, it was the switch only. I searched with the Dealer, the most expensive one, and I found a GM parts site. It was around 42 bucks including shipping.

I have had the same problem 3 times. Once on the driver side and twice on the passenger side. This time it's in a shop and not the dealer ship. They are going to actually replace the motor this time and not the switch in the door.
You could try the switch in the door first. Its a part you can only get from the dealer. It will run around $60 and a new motor is about $300.
Good luck.

go to junkyard and get anotherset of switches might as well get both of the driverside and if the passengerside is there get them too .most reasonable junkyards sell both sides for 20.00 easy to pop in. the switches get hot when the window binds and the contacts get burned i have taken them apart and scraped them clean but if the window is binding it will burn them again.
