Something inside of me says this might be a good Stress Reliever topic. Something that might actually go somewhere. If anything it will be entertaining to me and my buddies. Being we're car salesman..
Matter a fact I just made a phatty commission today. That poor Sucker... Who here has been a victim of a good salesman, like myself??

Heh...so true. Except I threw a can of beer at her head (didn't hit the bitch)...didn't mean to, but since it happened I might as well take credit for it and the hilarity that ensued.

Salesmen tend to hate me when I go onto a car lot. I don't buy the first car I see, ask lots of questions, drive different cars, maybe come back 3 or 4 times during the course of 2 weeks, beat the crap out of them on the price, walk out when I don't get what I want, go back when they call (record was 11 minutes, gotta love call forwarding), then beat them up on my trade. Then tell them I'm going to lease the car.

Ha...you asshole. And of course by asshole I mean genious, but that's beside the point. I plan on doing the same thing (minus the lease part) when I go on the new car hunt.

The best part is the tax, title and license fee. I love it when they tell you that the law states you have to pay it. The law states that it has to be paid, but does not say who has to pay it. I walked out over that one a few years back, sales manager beat me to the door.

yeah, your the kind of mooch I refuse to work with for a $100 if you even buy a fuckin' car. You're just not worth the headache, but your also the kind of person who over thinks themself into a stupid decision.. end up leaving in a kia rio..

Easy big boy... I believe in getting the best deal possible. I also believe in doing homework. If I run into that kind of attitude at a dealership I leave and go somewhere else. Doesn't matter if I get that attitude in the service department or on the sales floor. I understand most salespeople work on a comission, but I'm not going to walk in and be taken for a ride. If I'm treated right I send friends there, if I'm treated wrong I tell everyone to stay away. Pretty simple. Treat the customer right and they will keep coming back. If you can't handle that, or if you don't like dealing with people like me, find another line of work. And remember, you are the one who started this thread.

I'm not frustrated their big fella. I just don't like people like you who think it's ok to do that to a salesman and expect them to respect you. Would you want to put up with that crap from somone who would rather spit on you then spend and extra $80 for floor mats, waist 3 full days of somone time and expect them to be excited over a $100 flat commission and probably have you give them a bad CSI survey costing them thousands of dollars over the course of 3 months or so.. No thanks. I'd rather call my previous (non-mooch) customers and make $$.. Me personally not giving a shit about somone like you is my porgative and personaly would rather turn around and walk away and let somone else put up with somone like you...

There are those out there (salesmen) who are honest and straight forward. But I also think there is a reason for the stereo type. It was rediculous some of the things I heard when shopping for a car. I looked at a n/a 3000gt and he tried to convince me it had 320hp. I could go on but I really don't feel like ranting.

Their are a fair share of mentally handycap sales foke. Most of the sterotypes come from the 70-80's. From all the stories I've heard passed around durring that time it must have been one hell of a time..
Most salesmen are more affrade of their boss then the customer. A customer can be turned if you don't get anywher with them, but the only thing that gets turned when you touch the desk is you ass!

It's all about information. If you know how much a dealership has into a car, then you know what kind of a deal you can make. I don't try to get cars for less that what I think the dealer paid for them, but I do my homework, and carfax is a wonderful tool if you are buying used. You can find out the previous owner and see what they got for the car on a trade, which will give you an idea of what the dealer has into the car. As for floor mats, if someone is going to haggle over the price of them, just go to walmart and buy some cheapskate. I fight for the price of the car, not for the dealer added accessories.

You're not a mooch then. In the 5 years I've been selling cars I have see shit from customers that would make your fist's tighten up. It is so easy to buy a car today. Nothing is a secret anymore..

Maybe some of us just don't buy the typical car salesman bullshit, but your first post was trolling from the get-go, asking if anyone else has been the "victim" of a good "salesman" like yourself. LMAO It's cool, we can all get a few chuckles here. Trolling is good in a stress release thread.
I've always gone onto the lot with the attitude that I don't HAVE to buy a car today, and I don't HAVE to buy the one the salesman is showing me.
I've dealt with the bullshit: hey, if you have somebody else interested in the car, then sell it to THEM, cause I'll catch you later. That's your problem, not mine. If you have to "go talk to my sales manager" more than once, then send him over and I'll talk to him myself. Why am I dicking around with you? Don't blow smoke up my ass, all it does is piss me off.
You send my trade out so you can "look it over and see what it's worth" while I have to cool my heels in your office, all you do is piss me off. Who we kiddin'? You already know how much you'll offer me on a trade. Last time some moron did that, I walked over to his desk, said, "get me back my keys, stop wasting my time" and I left. I actually bought the vehicle he was trying to line up for me from the dealer HE was trying to get it from. I had already been to the original dealer, I was looking to see what else was out there, and I had to deal with that doorknob. To be fair, I ended up buying the vehicle from the first dealer because he was a straight shooter and he didn't jerk me around.
You don't like us because you can't make as much money as you like? Tough shit, find another line of work. All those games do is piss some of us off. :2cents:
Why, yes, they DO call this trolling. :evillol:

I'll tell you what. I bought my first new car with my dad. He's bought several new cars in his day.It was such a pain in the ass. I could not fathom getting screwed like that again. If you are a new salesman, make your deal. Don't depend on your manager to do it.I have a 1.5 hour rule. If you can't get the deal done in that amount of time.... I'm leaving.Either my down payment/credit/trade-in, is good enough, or it is is not. Shoot it straight. I know you'll make money one way or another. I will come prepared, with trade in values, blue book values. I will not be your typical fool. You'll have plenty of those to make money off of.Will I be a pain in the ass?? Yes, I will. Will you be a pain the ass?? I guarantee you will. Let's reach a middle ground. But, don't try to F$%^ me. I won't have it. I've already had family members go into "The Buisness". They have shown me the negative side of "The Buisness." So, I will not tolerate shady deals. I cannot stand bottom feeders!!!! Cut me a fair deal or "Piss off" I'm done ranting.

man im so glad im surrounded by some pretty good car salesmen, well, i guess i did my homework. i personally just go in and see the guy just standing around, watchin people. he'll ususally come my way, and see how they like the cars there and workin. ill ususually fin a salesman i like get his card, talk a bit about their 'top car' and leave. i know about 6 or 7 salesmen people that won't try and mark up prices on me and are straight forward. no asshole dealers for me. just ask for a certain person's name everytime, and get great service. i believe we (the family) bought 4 cars from the same car salesman over 4 years i believe.

Heh when my dad bought my car we looked it over for a few minutes, took it for a test drive, walked in, wrote the check for the sticker price and walked out. Simple as that. My dad has no patience for that kind of haggling stuff and we thought the price was fair enough already.

It'd be nice if cars were a non haggling type of product. Well, provided that the price is set fair. Sorta like how saturn used to run. The price on the door is the price of the car, no ifs and or but's. I hate haggling as well.

I am not a car salesman, but I am a salesman. I usually let the customer decide how I treat them. If they are a customer who gives me a hard time when it is uncalled for and they don't really buy that much where it is worth my time, then I will be out to stick it to them whenever I can, with an unpleasant attitude on top of it.
However, if the same customer is decent and easy to deal with, It doesn't bother me all that much if my commision is not worth my time.
My big commision customers though, I sometimes just have to grit my teeth and smile, but there is a point where I will say the hell with them if they push it too far.
So, anyway I expect a car salesman to be the same way. So it pisses me off when I go to get a car and get a tude from the salesman when I feel I am being an easy customer. All because I usually ask about trade ins that are going to be wholesaled.
Some dealers welcome you with open arms when you ask about those cars, others treat you like you just slept with the salesman's wife.
