I have a 70 Chevelle SS, it has a 396 off of a 1969 Chevelle, It has a TH400 Transmission, I want to convert it to a Manual, I cant decide if I should go w/ a 4-Speed or a 5-Speed, I am not going to be going to the strip with this car, But i want it to be quick off the line. Also, if anyone could recommend a good Transmission Company, that would be great, I have heard Muncie and a few other names, but I am not real sure. Any advice would be appreciated

If it were me and I had the extra funds I would go with a nash or other good 5 speed since your not racing it or anything.

Also you got a PM

I agree with AC, go with the aftermarket 5 speed. It will give you and extra gear for daily driving. Although the Muncie 4-speed is bulletproof, it's not a real smooth, precise trans. It didn't get it's nickname "rockcrusher" for nothing.
