old vid, but aside from what that guy thinks...
The dock menu is the stupidest organization tool in the world
The window command keyes (min/max/close) are on the left, not the right
the scroll up button is on the bottom of the scroll bar
that mouse which is actually one giant button is not only uncomfortable, but totally annoying

lets just say until about 6 years ago, i was dealing with a mac, that was manuaftured in 1993. computer gaming diddnt effect me unless it was a really old game, like warcraft II or desent. damn thing was soooo slow. i swear, i thought 28.8k was fast, not i cant live without cable modem. the old mac was a bitch to keep running pretty nicely. but the new ones aren't bad. its just that windows has more developers for its software i guess.
o, the mouse can be replaced with a 2 button usb mouse, and thats the only time ill use the mac, with a 2 button mouse.
they are good for word processing and video/picture editing. i dont think they are good for anything else by my uses of a computer.

Unless you work extensively in editing or producing media, then Mac is just one step closer to the insane asylum

Try dealing with troubleshooting macs on a campus network...
Welcome to my world. I gave up on Macs after the first week.

Wow, I didn't realize people had such problems with them. I'm using a 20 inch iMac right now at work with my 13.3in macbook sitting next to it running other tasks. To be honest, I've had no problems with them. I'm predominantly a PC guy, but considering that I'm going to be working in journalism and most newsrooms use Mac software and hardware, I thought it would be a good idea to get a laptop that allowed me to be familiar with the technology that I would be working with in my field of study. Also as a PC guy, I can say that I've really had no trouble adjusting to the differences between the two machines, It's been pretty simple, actually.

im a mac hater as well. the only thing i like about macs is their appearance. they look very modern and sleek, too bad i hate everything else about them or i'd have bought one of them instead of my Dell. i do love my video ipod :)

I'm not a mac fan. I'm not convinced they're crap, but I'm also not convinced they're worth the extra cost.

Are you serious? The dock menu is awesome, hell I use it (through ObjectDock) on my PC. Taskbar at the top, dock menu at the bottom, both autohide = no desktop icons and clean workspace.
Macs are great, they just take some getting used to. Great for editing work.

:screwy: Don't know about macs. But, my "Dell" is a piece of $%^&.Only 3 years old . It has more problems than I can count. It acts like it has a mind of it's own.:banghead: I've got Macafee virus scanning. I got online for about an hour and a half. I ran "Macaffee", or however it's spelled. I had 2500 plus trojans!!!! The back button works when it feels the urge. It shuts down when it feels like it needs a break:nono: I have DSL. But, I had to run it through AOL. Now, AOL does not work. So< I start with Internet Explorer, then switch to yahoo. Then it works, temporarily. Then it encounters an error... Do I send an error report or not??? It would not do any good. I feel the urge to break something....:banghead:

sounds like someone has been downloading 'free game trials' or something along that sort. mcaffe or w/e, will get rid of the viruses, adaware will get rid of most of the spam. post a copy of your task manager list, and im pretty sure we could figure out what shouldnt belong there, giving you information on what doesnt look like a normal process.
