this may seem to be a weird question...but i have a weird idea, just for kicks. anyone happen to know what kind of psi and cfm a smog pump would typically deliver? or any other form of centrifugally driven air pump? thanks

Probably on the order of 3-4 psi, but not very many CFMs. Just a random guess; 50 CFM?

I'm going out on an assumption here, but you cannot use it as a cheap-o supercharger. I tried this back in 1983 with zero success.

Remove the tube coming out of any pump and feel how much air it pushes when running. It feels like an old man with emphasyma wheezing on your hand. There is not enough pressure or flow to affect engine performance in any measurable way.

ahhh...yeah that was what i was questioning, lol..just to see if i get some more power, what little if at all possible, out of a horsepower proof motor. :icon16: oh well..lol

if you were yo use that pump as a supercharger, you'd most likely restrict the airflow, not increase it which would not be good for the engine.

thats not true....

you just have to find the right size engine for the pump!
