2001 Silhouette A/C Problem

My 2001 Olds Silhouette Air Conditioning output is only slightly cool. I checked the charge and it is in the "Filled" range on guage (40psi). When the air conditioning is on, I hear a gurgling sound - I don't know if this is normal. Does anyone have any ideas as to where the problem might be? or troubleshooting tips?

Our 2001 Olds Silo had a leaking condenser. The metal bracket that holds the condenser upright would crack the condenser itself leading to a small leak. The leak is visible as a bright green fluid making a slow drip near the bracket. This is/was a common problem with the GM minivans condenser design. A TSB was issued on this. The re-designed condenser has better support brackets. Just one idea.

There are several reasons for your AC not blowing cold. The first thing to check is your blend door. Make sure it is operating properly and seals correctly. This does not explain the gurgling noise. What does explain it is a filter in the AC line called an "Orifice tube" if this becomes clogged the refrigerant cannot pass through and will build up pressure on one side of the tube. hope this helps

I'm having a similar problem with my 2002 Premiere (no cold air, although I'm not hearing the gurgling noise that tlaman experienced). I've no idea how or where to check levels or anything else a/c related though. I haven't seen any obvious leaks anywhere though. Where do I check the charge and the blend door?
