Hello. I have a stock 1992 R32 skyline which i bought 3 days ago. And 2 days ago the power dropped dramatically.
Apparently the turbine in the turbo is rooted.
Can someone please fill me in on what model the stock turbo is? Aswell as what a good replacement would be. I'm looking for something of similar performance.
My mechanic wants to charge me $2600 to do it. Would i be better off installing it myself?
Thanks for your help.

Stock turbo is a ceramic exhaust wheeled T3. It is easy enough to replace the turbo yourself. Do not buy one from eBay, they are not balanced and built properly and will last about 3 days before the destroy themselves and very likely, your motor.
Plenty of reputable turbo manufacturers in Australia. The T3/T4 hi-flow option is very worthwhile as well :)
