I'm replacing the head gasket on my 22RE engine. I have removed all the 8 intake manifold bolts, removed 2 pipes, and all the other bolts I can find. But, the manifold will still not come off. Is there any other tricks, or hidden attachments, I might be missing?

According to the manual, you install the intake manifold with the delivery pipe, injectors, and No. 1 air pipe with seven bolts, one hexagonal bolt, and two nuts.

Does this help?

See the 1993 pick-up manual at the top of this forum in the sticky post.

thanks Brian. To remove the intake manifold, do I need to unattach or remove the individual fuel injectors from the manifold then? I was not able to figure out how to do that. Also, where do I see the manual in the sticky post? I can't find it. thanks

The manual says that you don't have to remove the injectors. This is normal.
