92 Sundance Duster Performance Options

Hey all. Any help is appreciated.

I just picked up a 92 Duster with the 3L V6 in it for a winter beater and want to tinker with it a little before winter hits.

What are the options? Are there any or do you know of any sites or have links? I haven't really been able to find anything yet.

The first thing I'd like to tackle is the crappy intake. The filter is small and in the worst possible location. Any options or DIY ideas??

Thanks.

You can do a Internet search for Dodge 3.0 mods.
I've seen a couple of good sites that are done by weekend racers.
Unfortunately there isn't much you can do with a 3.0 without having a lot of $$ to spend. The factory computer doesn't work well with mods, that is one major obsticle. Another is that there aren't hardly any parts available for that version of the 3.0.

yeah i'm finding that out. there isn't even anything on eBay which surprised me. i'd think someone would at least have developed a ram air kit for it.

it's not a bid deal though, i guess. it's just a beater.

thanks, tho.

One of the things about the Shadow/Sundance is the Chassis they are built on is Junk, for the most part. There is some following with the 2.2/2.5l turbo engines for these cars. The following has more to do with having a body to put the engine in more than anything. The Sundance doesn't have the handling potential that the Neons do. So the Mopar fans that run small cars run with the Neon or the '80's L-Body cars such Charger,Omni,024,Rampage (I have 2 of them) and Horizon. These cars have way more street performace potential.
