ok I want to buy a 200sx se-r. In that I either want to put a bluebird det but is it possible to make it FWD or do you convert it to AWD? I heard it was possible to make it FWD and get the engines for real cheap? need opinions on that! and with the sr20det do you have to convert it to FWD? also which would be the easiest to swap and the cheapest? which would be the best performer?

All you need to do is put the FWD tranny on the engine. Theres really no difference between the U.S. and the JDM engine as far as tranny mounting. The bluebird engine is thr easiest and the cheapest to do, and as far as which will perfor better, the built engine will.

as long as you get a 200sx se-r (with the USDM SR20DE engine) then the JDM SR20DET engine swap will be fairly easy. if you import an SR20DET engine with the AWD tranni included, just remove it and install it into your SE-R, mounted to the FWD tranni. As a general rule of thumb.... as long as the engine family (first two letters of the engine code) and engine configuration (FWD/RWD/AWD) are the same, the trannsmission should mount to that engine. i hope that made some sense...

yeah what they said the ser comes with the sr20de engine the great thing about doing a sr20det swap on this platform is its a drop in app. the blue bird will fit right in the gti-r will need a good deal of to get right I would go with the BB. Sorry but you have to use the ser tranny to make this car awd would be great but it would cost you a ton of cash. The only other thing to this swap is the ECU the stock ser ECU will not run the det engine correctly so will have to send it to Jim Wolf and have it reprogramed but after that its go time. The ser is so light that with 200hp its crazy fast now getting traction is the next problem but its controlable to around 300hp. Good luck with this I'll right there with you soo I'm doing the swap myself...nooch

gti-r all the way. same swap as the bb no different. just bolt on your tranny and have the ecu programmed by Jwt. gti-r more power and stronger. bigger turbo (T-28 instead of T-25) 4 individual throttle bodies, biger intercooler, bigger injectors, beefier rods, lower compression for more boost, 360 deg lubricating rod bearings plus better head design. 227 hp instead of 205 hp. my friend ran 13.5s @ 15lbs and another ran 12.8 @ 20lbs of boost. the bb will run consistent 13.6 at high boost before you gotta do fuel and turbo upgrade and pistons and rods.

to the best of my knowledge the JDM SR20DE comes stock rated @ 108kW power at the flywheel. (approx equal to 145 horsepower).

A bluebird is an SR20DET front wheel drive. THe GTIR is an AWD tranny, but the engine will bolt to the SE-r tranny. Or if you got the transfer case, awd tranny, and rear differential, you could have an AWD. Probably very hard to do, but would be awesome when it's finished.

the bb is awd as well and automatic. you still need the flywheel and us tranny. the awd sucks. its weak and heavy and will slow you down.
