I got to experience my friends 88 RX7 GLX and it was awesome, that car just eats the road. I know nothing about rotary engines so I wouldn't benefit from a rotary engine car. I'm selling my 01 Eclipse RS for about 6-7 grand. With that I want to but a RWD car. Preferably one with plenty of aftermarket products. I was thinking about the 240 SX or maybe the Miata.
Any suggestions?

Since I know nothing about pricing of USA cars (except they are cheaper than anywhere in the world) you will have to disregard if my comments don't fit into your price range.

If you like the feeling of "eating up road" which i assume you mean in the twisties, I would recommend the Miata. The lightweightedness and 50/50 weight + RWD makes it incredibly nimble in the twisties.

Also there is a lot of good aftermarket support. People around here usually go for a Jackson Racing S/C as an aftermarket power getter which makes it about 240ish rwhp (with supporting mods). This with the fact that it weighs something like 900kg (depending on yr) will make it a very fast and scary car to drive in the twisties.

Having said that, the 240sx is not much different and will also eat up the twisties with some upgraded suspension. There are also many power getting options with this car, either turbo the KA stock engine (as I've heard they can hold boost well and are strong) or you can go a bit more JDM and swap in an SR20DET. There are people on this forum with both KA and SR engines putting out around 300rwhp.

I don't see how you can go wrong with either car as both have a lot of aftermarket support to make them into beautifully handling cars.

And of course, as expected, if you want to eat up twisties, try an impreza....may be out of the price range though.

Another thing what is S10; I though the S10 was a truck, S13, S15 and any others I didn't mention. And whats an S13 Sylvia. I know NOTHING about the RWD Nissans; S10-S15, Sylvia's, KS's and SR's...the list goes on. Whats the difference between the 240SX and the S13-15's.

Go with the 240. The miata is nicely balenced but not really any better than the 240, plus the 240 has a more ridgid chassies and a larger engine bay if you want to swap in an RB26 or a V8. Or if you only need say 250hp you can either turbo the stock KA24de engine or swap in the jspec sr20det. I have driven both, i liked them both and while the drop top miata was probably more "fun" the larger hardtop 240 felt like it had more potential as a true proformance machine.
