Im going to be looking around for a good car to run in a race, its kind of a derby type race(Its called car wars so you get the picture) and theres also a segment where you can go off a ramp or try to go on 2 wheels. Im looking for a good model to look for, something tough, quick and maybe old heavy and american(Or I might go the other way for speediness I.E. light, small import such as a 80s volkswagen) and its gonna be cheap, becuase Im going to looking through the classifieds and junkyards. So basicly any suggestions for a older car model thats quick.

Chevy Caprice, Buick Roadmaster, something along those lines for big and heavy. Around here most guys use Monte Carlos from the 70's.

well, demo derbies and rollover contests are very different.
for demo derbies the Olds 98, Buick Roadmaster & Electra, Dodge Diplomat, Chrysler New Yorker & Newport, and Ford Crown Victoria are fairly ubiquitous.
For rollover competetions you want something that's light and with a high center of gravity yet fairly durable. Great cars for this are the Mazda 323, Chevrolet Chevette, Chevrolet Citation, and VW Fox.

We have rollover competitions in southern ontario and about 90% of the cars I see are Geo motros, Chevettes, Omnis, etc. I'd still redommend these for going on two wheels because I hav e seen a guy do it at the derby once. he had a metro and he won the rollover (4 rolls) and he had one more chance left because his car was pretty much toast so he went off the ramp and went a fair distance on 2 and then just cranked the wheel and rolled the sucker. Hope I helped lol!

BTW if you are looking to run in the mini-class demo derbies (4 cylinder class) I'd highly recommend a Chevy Cavalier or a Pontiac Sunfire. They are, in my experience, the best 4 bangers to run. I'm not sure if you can run pre-80's down there, but if you can, a 76 impalia is a nice choice. If you can run 1980 & newer, Caprice wagons are nice, but they are getting rarer and rarer to find these around.
Like I said, this is just my opinion.
