I've never heard of "changing the language." I have heard of adding Spanish as a second language (Which I think is almost as stupid, not quite thogugh.) Don't get me wrong, I'm not racist and I have no problem with immigrants, but if they're willing to move here and work here they should atleast be able to speak enough of OUR language to get by in the country, we shouldn't have to give them special help...

It's really not going to bother anyone who doesn't speak spanish at all. Unless you work for the government, depending on how they implement it. In Canada at least, you have the right to be served at any government office in either official language. I don't believe bilingualism is required for those jobs though, just that they have to employ spanish speakers too.

Oh, and you might end up with everything you buy having spanish on the label as well as english. It was so weird for me to grocery shop while I was in the US because all the packaging looked so bare without the french translation right underneath.

Yes because the only brown race is mexican

Its hispanics. Get your story right atleast just so you can sound smarter.

About the topic, wont bother me much because you'll be helping each other more than just hispanics. Say once you go out of the country and into a spanish speaking nation, you'll be set and wont feel like an idiot or get into places you werent wanting to go into.

Its all depends on the region I think. according to quite a few websites, these are the most spoken language...
1051 Million - Mandarin
0510 Million - English
0490 Million - Hindi
0425 Million - Spanish

On another site its
Chinese 937 million
Spanish 332 million
English 322 million.

in the americas (noth south and central) Spanish is the majority language. So with so many coming over since its so close by natually it would seem that there are more spanish language speakers.

TS out (learning mandarin)

i wouldn't put much faith in a site that only lists chinese as being one language.
off the top of my head i can think of at least 5 dialects that are more or less individual languages.
