Subwoofer wiring to the battery

Hi guys, would anyone know where can I put cables through saloon to the battery to connect my subwoofer.
Now it's connected to the cigerette lighter, but this is termporarily. I'm affraid cables can burn.

Also, I tried connecting the negative cable to the chasse for negative, but it didn't work, would anyone know why...?

Any help would be apreciated. I have 2002 Clio 1.2 16V.

This May Not Be Alot Of Help To You As My Brother Wired Up My System But The Cable Going From Amp To Batterery Was Tucked Behind The Plastic Covers At The Bottom Of The Car Inside Below The Doors.they Run From Back Down To The Front And If You Pull Them Out Slightly You Can Tuck Ur Cable Through There All The Way Through To The Front,then up by next to glovebox and there should be a hole which goes through to the egine area by the water bottle. put it through the hole to the battery.(PASSENGER SIDE).


WHERE ABOUTS ON THE CHASSE DID YOU PUT THE CABLE?

Im no expert but an amp connects directly to the battery for a reason. I threaded the power cable trhough with the bonnet release cable into the engine bay. i got help from http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showt...56#post1789356

I connect the GROUND to a nut on near or attach to the rear lights

I have a 2001 clio 1.4 16v

I tried connecting negative/ground cable to any bare metal i can find in bonnet (including chasse rear nut for suspension).

Me and my friends desided that i don't have a negative charge on my car, and it all comes straight from the battery... but it sounds not al right...

The Cable Which Goes From The Amp To The Chasse Is The Earth. You Should Connect It To Somewhere Like The Back Of Your Rear Lights On The Bolt Inside The Boot.
TRY THIS ???
ALSO THE CABLE YOU ARE CONNECTING TO BARE METAL SHOULD BE NO WHERE NEAR YOUR BONNET.IF YOUR AMP IS IN YOUR BOOT YOU ONLY NEED A SHORT BIT OF CABLE CONNECTED TO METAL IN YOUR BOOT.
THE OTHER LONG CABLE YOU SHOULD HAVE RUNNING FROM YOUR AMP ASWELL SHOULD RUN DIRECTLY TO YOUR BATTERY.

Denis if you go to cliosport.net im sure they have some pictures on how to do this. I dont think i can explain it any clearer than it already has been but (and please dont take this the wrong way) but maybe you should pay a car radio shop some money to do this for you. It may sound harsh but it could save you alot of time and effort particularly if you blow the amp or your car electrics.
