Hello Everyone,
I have a parking brake that won't engage and I have an inspection coming up in a few days. I am located in Germany and they have yearly car inspections. What I need is a web-site/some direction on how to fix this. I have a 1990 Olds eighty-eight, 3.6. When I push the parking brake down, it won't hold. When it does manage to hold, It's extremely tight and will pop out very hard unexpectantly. Like I said, I have to pass this annual inspection so I need help fast! I have tools and resources but what I lack is some direction. Any ideas?

You'll need to adjust the parking brake linkage. It's on the cable under the car, but the procedure is specific to the type of brake system installed.
Edit: While you're at it, check the brake shoe linings.

i replaced both brake cables in my car, seemed to work great, only problem is i could never adjust it right, so it had some problems, but i eventually got it.
