How much what would cost? Just the paint, or the paint with the whole job included?

well a good paint job with regular paint runs at least a couple grand. so $600 i dont think will cut it with a pearlescent paintjob.

I guess you could buy your own paint and then take it to Maaco, couldnt you? Then it'd be in the 600 range. But if you are taking it to Maaco, do all the prep work yourself and do it well! I don't think Maaco does any prep, don't they just paint over your existing paint? (If you don't prep it)

(If you don't prep it)yeah im pretty sure they only spray paint. but see if you take it there then all your jams are going to be the stock color. they only spray the intire outside. so you can go that route if you want to cheapest paint job. or you can go the right way (which is going to cost a pretty penny) and take it somewhere that will paint everything including all the jams. just depends on how much you want to spend and what you want to the final product to end up looking like.

I have pearlescent paint job on my car and heres a little story to help you figure it out.
Some clown bumped my bumper in the parking lot. Not damage but took a silver dollar size, put your index finger to your thumb, chunk of paint off. It cost over $400.00 dollars! $320 of which went to paint. Oh and I had multiple quotes.
Pearlescent painting is a 3 step process and thus very expensive. Paint, pearl, and then clear. Pearl is very expensive. If you think your going to get the whole job done for $600.00 you are mistaken. Your looking at more like $3-4000.00, closer to the 4,000 if you want the door jams and everything else painted. And then, just like me, you'll be piss as hell when you walk out and find that someone did something to your car and you have to fork out the 400 bucks to have it fixed!
Few last words of advise STAY AWAY FROM MAACO! If your going to do it get it done right or you'll be pissed later!

Just repaint it the original color but with glitter paint or with a pearl version of the color you have, if you want something different from a regular color.

My car is white. Really hard to see the pearl in the pictures. They just wouldn't do it justice or I would. Nor do I have any good pictures of my car but I'm trying to get some.

Yea.. $600 sounds like a macco price quote.
I was quoted 3-4,000 avg just to get everything redone with the door trims, rocker pannels, remove all the glass and basically paint everywhere. Thats without painting my CF parts too... Quality paint jobs aren't cheap.

The biggist problem with Maaco, when you get their cheap paint job, is that they dont remove any trim. They just tape it off and paint. When you get your car back you can totally tell.
Sometimes they do body work, most of the time they dont. When I got my car keyed I had a quote by them. He showed me a car they had just done and it looked like crap. AND there were some rust spots they just painted over them. Can I add another the car looked like CRAP!
