Well I have been extremely busy administring AF and nisco is really busy with school and stuff. I also asked someone to help mod not only this section but all of the Hyundai sections and he declined. So if any one has suggestions, feel free to send me a pm your suggestions on how to make this section a bit more active.

maybe it was the "what, do you think i'm going to let you roll a Hyundai?" comment from the Fast and the Furious: Toyko Drift movie...

J/K. This place has never really been that active. It mostly attracts 1st timers. 1-50 posters. I don't think there is much you can do. Aside from making me a moderator....

As always, I am open to ideas. Which is why I created the GK and RD subdivisions. But we have been busy and haven't gotten around to move the topics to their areas. Right now they look empty, hopefully that will change soon.

10-01-2006, 09:19 AM
You would think a 32 year old would be more mature.

It has nothing to do with the topic at hand, and while I encourage members to post anywhere in AF, if the one above (Rickna) is an indication of his future posts, then I rather he stay in the Auto Art section. Trolling/Flaming a brand will not be allowed.

Just like that Police song, (enhanced for AF)

Every breath you take,
Every move you make
Every RULE you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you.

Now back to the topic at hand.
For those that haven't noticed, Rickna is a moderator and as such will be part of the team along with nisco in moderating these sections. Such as moving threads into the new sections and introducing new things for the section.

If anyone has any other idea for the section, feel free to inform them or myself.

and why use the word "tuners" like a dergoatory term?

Rickna
10-03-2006, 06:20 AM
Muscle cars are their own beuaty of simplicity. They remind me of where we came from. I have respect for all cars. People do things to please themselves, not poeple like you. Obviously you have issues with tuner cars. You do have a nice car, it's just a plain shame you're a jerk about it.

compare any muscle car to a work of art such as the skyline, nothing compares......... your sad, come back in another 32 years n let us know youve grown up.....

Rickna
10-04-2006, 06:32 PM
Yes I do have the power, but I will only excercise it in extreme cases. Dun worry I'm taking laptop, camera (with film & batteries this time). I gotta tell ya I'm in really bad shpe. It looks like I'm gonna end up in the hosp soon, probably next week. I just can't beat this thing this time. So I have to go easy walking around.

BigTDawg
10-04-2006, 07:30 PM
speeddemon mind your tounge
there are plenty of muscle cars that look nices comapre a skyline to a '68 shelby gt 500 '69 '70 chevelle they are nice

but any ways hopefully the block is going down to get sonic tested tomorrow so we can find out how big i can over bore it...the guy is talking about going .120 overbore that would be amzing if it can go that big

speeddemonGtV6
10-05-2006, 03:01 PM
yea yea t pup the only muscle car that truly looks amazing is the gt 500 E AKA the eleanor from gone in 60 sec........ its sooo nice, after the blocks tested, how soon will you bore it?

suicidehummer
10-05-2006, 03:23 PM
if i remeber you are the only one who brought
looks into it. you are so shallow

If i'm so shallow, then lets do an imaginary race...

Stock:
Only stock options!

1970 Dodge Challenger HEMI
425 hp V8

2005 Hyundai Tiburon
I don't know what engines Hyundai uses, so i'll guess a 2.3 litre V6

WINNER?
Challenger

You're probably saying that's not fair because the Hyundai
has a smaller engine. Well, too bad, it's fair wether you like
it or not. If that's what youre pissed about, don't buy a
Hyundai, get a Challenger.

Rickna
10-05-2006, 03:30 PM
So you can beat a 2.7 L Hyundai. Who cares besides you? You comne into a sport compact forum with your muscle car and bash. You have issues pal. Consider this an official warning.

BigTDawg
10-05-2006, 09:16 PM
once its gets tested we are gonna figure out how much it can be bored and look at options for pistons if i need custom pistons it will take about 5 to 6 weeks to get them in which its looking like they are gonna be custom and if not custom then how ever long it takes to get shipped to shop.

1970 Dodge Challenger HEMI
425 hp V8
ha a HEMI not all its cracked up to be your out of tune because of your your six pack and you cant find anyone good enough to keep it tuned so that 425HP is more like 325 if not lower

2.7 Hyundai Tiburon
170 HP V6

the way i see it we each have a win you'll take it in a drag race
but we'll take you on a road corse anyday your supension wont even comapre to ours so cya in the corners

cutthroat1117
10-05-2006, 10:43 PM
I dunno about anyone else here: But Im an all-around car fanatic. From Exotics to Musclecars to Sport Compacts (Tuners for the 40-year old virgin in the house).

And don't forget what made the Musclecar era so hot: Hot Rods. This is exactly what Tuners do because no longer is there crappy heavy-weight sheet metal to work with, but high-durability, light weight carbonfiber and plastics.

If we want to sling mud from "Stock Car to Stock Car", and were talking "Musclecar Vs Tuner", Let me just toss this one out there...

For the sake of shits & giggles, lets use the infamous 1970 Hemi 'Cuda since we're talking Hemi:
432 hemi crankin' 620 BHP, Weighing in at 3945 lbs, 0-60 of 4.3 seconds. Impressive, no? This gives you a 6.36 LBS/HP ratio.

Now let's take one of the most hated (When I say hated, I mean hated by anyone who doesnt own one...) "Rice Burners" of the tuner world: The 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
MIVEC Inline Turbo 4-cylinder engine, producing 286 WHP, Weighing 4222LBS, 0-60 of 4.9 seconds. A 14.76 LBS/HP ratio.

Clearly the Cuda has more power, and (even to my surprise) weighs less than the "EVO", however, in nearly any race you could pin 'em in, I can pretty well guarantee the Evo would take it. The only race I could imagine the evo losing in (only by a small margin, at that) would be a flat-out drag race(Ive seen stock evos run mid-11's, 11's for the Cuda as well).

Mr. Challenger, You're pitting Old School Vs. New School. There's no comparison whatsoever.

...Just as a final jab here: Stock tib looks better than, handles better than, is more comfortable than, and has a better sound system than your challenger anyway. AND I only shelled out $20,000! HA! :evillol:

Rickna
10-05-2006, 11:03 PM
Cutthroat, you make some very good points.

BigTDawg
10-06-2006, 10:58 AM
Why bring the Cuda and evo into this when its about the challenger and tib?

but anyways so you proved that the cuda has a better power to weight ratio than the evo ok? plus you used bhp for a cuda and whp for the evo 2 different measurements. you did nothign with that information. i dont know where you got you 1/4 mile time i found 13.4 for stock evo and also 13.4 stock cuda but really where you go your times is irrelevant since we are bothin going to agree that it comes down the the driver. and ofcorse the evo will tkae the cuda in a race with turns its suspension is terrible and it only has 4 gears compared to the evo's tighter suspenison and 5 or 6 gears not sure which it is.

you didnt really choose the best cars to comapre here. an f/i engine to a n/a engine. if you put a turbo on the cuda no contest. you take the turbo off the evo again no contest. i always hate when people comaper 4 cyl to 8 cyl cause if you both do the same work to the engines the 8 is gonna have more power. if you do the same work to the cars the 8cyl will be better. atleast keep some varibles in the equation the same.

you are defintly right about the tib looking better and handles better. and of corse our sound system is better he still has the 8-track in his car

cutthroat1117
10-06-2006, 08:41 PM
Tdawg, you're more critical than Challenger Boy here. Im throwing irrelevant Information Vs. Irrelevant Information. Block size, compression, Forced Induction, Natural Aspiration... All Im saying is Stock Vs. Stock.

As far as the whole Challenger Vs. Tib thing: Challenger would take pretty much any race hands down. We're talking entirely different classes here.

Same goes for the whole caste of cars. You cant pit a Challenger Vs. a Hemi Cuda, Cuda'd take it! Same's true for the Evo Vs. the Tib, Evo'd eat the poor lil shark alive.

I personally look at cars in their Genres: Exotic, Luxury, Sport Compact, Muscle (Lets leave economy out of this).

Even within the genres, theres high-end and low-end. In the Musclecar world, I'd consider a Challenger to be Mid- to High-end in the scheme of things (Cant compare to say... a Shelby Cobra, 'Cuda, GT500... etc.). In the same, a Dodge Dart would fall closer to the Mid- to Low-end of the genre.

In the tuner world, Id put Skylines, 350Z's, Evo's at the top; S2000's, Supras, etc in the middle; and on the lower end of the genre Id put Civics, Eclipse's and (as much as I hate to say it) the Tiburon.

Ultimately you're talking complete different spectrums.

lol, if we wanna talk exotics now, you wouldnt expect an Exige to take a Veyron... :uhoh:

All im sayin here is just let sleeping dogs lie, let Challenger Boy bask in his stock, musclecar glory, and let us enjoy our tuner-riffic ways of life.

Heh, I honestly just posted for the sake of seeing some rather heated discussion in this forum for the first time in a loooong time!

suicidehummer

ha a HEMI not all its cracked up to be your out of tune because of your your six pack and you cant find anyone good enough to keep it tuned so that 425HP is more like 325 if not lower
Actually, a HEMI is more than it's cracked up to be, they really had somewhere around 500 hp , but to trick insurance companies, they claimed 425 hp, needless to say, it didn't work. By the way, HEMIs used dual 4-barrel carbs, which was better than the six pack which was used only on the 340 and 440 max wedge engines.:screwy:

the way i see it we each have a win you'll take it in a drag race
but we'll take you on a road corse anyday your supension wont even comapre to ours so cya in the corners

Not if I can have the 340 six pack T/A on my side, which is stock so I can, because that was used in the Trans-Am races, and had to race on a track, so suspension is superb.:evillol:

Stock tib looks better than, handles better than, is more comfortable than

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. More comfy than an american auto from the 70's? RIGHT:screwy: :cwm27:

he still has the 8-track in his car

Actually it's a tape player, and i've hooked it up to my cd player so who cares?

Challenger would take pretty much any race hands down.

See, at least one of you has some sense.:naughty:

You can't pit a Challenger Vs. a Hemi Cuda, Cuda'd take it!

Actually, you can. They're exactly the same except for maybe 5 body panels. They had the same engines, 12 to be exact, and could BOTH be outfitted with a HEMI.

(Can't compare to say... a Shelby Cobra, 'Cuda, GT500... etc.).

Actually, it can. Cobra = slight mods and the hemi would win. the only reason you'd need to mod it would be because the cobra's so light. Otherwise the HEMI would OWN a 427 Cobrajet any day. 'Cuda = same car, same engines, already explained. GT500 = like I said, Hemi would own Cobrajet.

Heh, I honestly just posted for the sake of seeing some rather heated discussion in this forum for the first time in a loooong time!

Wow, congrats you're the first to realize that was the reason I posted

there was no superb suspension back in the 70's you cant comapre suspension 30 years ago to suspensions now a days. superb back than is shit now. and no the hemi isnt really more than its cracked up to be thats like saying the jags where great engines. yea they where great if you could get and keep them tuned but hey good luck finding someone who could do that.

cutthroat1117 nothing perosnal man like you sayed finally something is going on here its just too bad that challenger boy has tunle vison and cant except facts i agree with you tib is defintly low end car i have no problem with that
