Whats the difference between a normal Skyline and a V-Spec? Please post some pics and specs on your Skyline.

I don't know the V-spec question, but I'll let you know that the Nismo 270R wasn't a Skyline; it was a Silvia... ;)

From what I understand there are only small differences between the vspec and non vspec. 1 being different suspension in the V spec.

Try searching skylinesdownunder.com , there are a bunch of threads about this.
I'd have to go with Godzilla, R32 GT-R that is. :)

As far as I know, the difference are in the ATTESA E-TS 4WD system. There are actually three specs of GTR:
1. Non V-spec GTR
2. V-spec GTR
3. V-spec II GTR
1. Non V-spec GTR
2. V-spec GTR
3. V-spec II GTR

Well I wasn't sure as to the question in the poll, but I picked the good ol' 400R :D
As for V-spec and non V-spec differences... the GTR has ATTESA-ETS and the Vspecs have ATTESA PRO.
Stiffer suspension, difference in a few Lbs of curb weight. On the R32s I think the GTS had 255 tires and the Vspecs had 275, but I'm not sure
I'm sure some one will pop up with an exact list sooner or later ;)

R32 standard tire size was 205. I have 245's on my GT-R and even those are a bit too big for it.

V-Spec is like a turbo, it kicks in when u hit a certain amount of RPM. Just like Honda and Acura with their V-Tech but Nissan is V-Spec.

Forgot a lot more than that... (not that the poll would really have enough options for everything. I had to vote for the 400R, even though I'd probably say the 280MR would be my favoutite - man I would love one of them. :D :D :D :D :D
As for V-spec, the differences varied between R32, 33 and 34 GTRs, from what I've read, and the differences were less pronounced in the R33. The diff is different, the suspension and ?brakes (in R32 anyway). In the 34, there were things like the underbody diffuser.
I've not heard of any difference in power, but then supposedly they all have 206kW anyway (**cough cough BULLSHIT cough cough **)

I don't think so, but I also don't know what it does stand for. I seem to remember thinking it stood for Nurburgring, but then found out it didn't. I'll try to dig it up.

THe diff is the Vspec is nissians version of v-tec. There are 4 models the non V- spec, V- spec , V- spec II and the NUR. The NUR being the best. Very few were produced.

vtec is variable valve timing... Differences in vspec are suspension changes... And NUr is an M-specNUr. And there are a shitload of models like Moon said.
Oh yea, and the Sentra is a Spec-V
Perhaps we should gather some info before we open our mouth eh? Or just read some of the previous posts?

wtf I thought V Spec stood for Victory Spec n was realeased for every celebrative moment in Skyline history, like winning races etc etc. They had upgraded features to normal GTR's.
and I thought Nur was for Nurburgring, hmm
V-Spec is not like VTEC lmao hahah its got nuffin to do with the engine management. There's different Specs coz in japan they don't refer to some of the cars by the Model name, for example S Spec is standard, ie GTS and M Spec is GTSt
There's a lot of confusion on the matter n that's what i've come to think of it, so I might be wrong.

The reason the GTR's have an underrated power figure is that it's illegal to make a production car that is over a certain limit, so its underrated in the paperwork, but stock cars easily outdo that figure by about 15-20kW.
Plus the scope for improvement (mods) in a Skyline is far larger than in a 200sx, availablity just depends on which part of the world you live in.

Hahaha, some funny shit.
I think these are right.....
R32
Vspec had 17x8's instead of 16x8's, different suspension geometry to counter the wheels
Vspec2 had Brembo's
(however, the first batch of non Vspec GTRs had the N1 block)
R33
Vspec has stiffer suspension, Active LSD, rear side spats, improved attessa (have also heard that the Vspec has 17x9's instead of 17x8's??)
R34
Not to sure
Vspec2 has diffusers and carbon bonnet
Mspec has softer suspension and leather interior
NUR (was to commemorate the record at Nurburgring) is a submodel of the Vspec2 and Mspec
Rated power was the same for all models (apparently)

It isn't illegal for them to produce more than 206kw, it was a gentlemans agreement between the govt and car manufacturers in Japan. If it was illegal, they'd all be in deep poopoo. The R32's were close to the 206 kw mark, but if you removed the restricter in the boost hose, you gained a reasonable amount of power easily, they were detuned to around that figure. Later, I don't think they cared.
By Skyline, I take it you mean GTR. I haven't seen too many RB20DET's or RB25DET's pushing out over 700hp, but have seen SR20DET's with that figure.
Ajonkey, I take it you are meaning mph? My GTS25t can hit almost 260km/h and I know the GTR's can go a bit faster than that

That's coz an RB26DETT slots into a RB20DET or RB25DET pretty easily, then you can go about tweaking it even more, its the rational thing to do. But when it comes to the SR's 4 cyl engines, SR20DET is as good as it gets, hence why there's more of em doin that figure. If you had an RB20DET you wouldn't waste time tinkering with it if you wanted serious power, you'd jus swap the engine for an RB26DETT or an RB30DET hybrid.

If you want serious power from a Silvia/200sx/240sx you can swap in an RB26 too, so the SR isn't as good as it gets. If you own a 200sx/Silvia I'm pretty sure you can keep the twin turbo setup so you could make 800+hp and have a car that weighs hundreds of pounds less than a Skyline in any trim...esp the GTR.
