Automatic hubs engaging randomly?!

Hi everyone.
I have a 1992 B2600i 4x4 with a 5 speed and factory automatic hubs. Everything on the truck works great except for the following condition which arose 2 days ago.
The automatic hubs randomly try to engage whether I am parked (key in accessory position or engine running) or driving down the road. The 4x4 and the RFW lights come on even with the transfer case in 2WD. The 4x4 light either flickers on/off or just comes on solid. This indicates to me that the transfercase selector sensor is sending a false signal to the automatic hubs to engage. I can only unlock the RFW once the 4x4 light goes out.
Has anyone encountered this before? Does anyone know which sensor on the transfercase controls the signal to engage the hubs?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
D2H

:screwy: I have a very similar problem with my '89 B2600i. I have learned it is not an unusual problem. If you haven't already done so, check the MAZDAWORLD.org forum; specifically the B Series truck subforum. There is some info regarding our problem and a fellow who goes by the username TRYNITAR who seems to really know his stuff posts a lot of answers. Good luck. If you get anything useful, please post it here, too. Thanks

This happens on my parents 2000 Escalade. The dealer didn't know what was wrong with it and wouldn't replace it. Lets just say we don't go to the dealer anymore.:grinyes:
