Running water sound

When I am driving in first and second, I hear a sound of running water from my dash. What could this be? I thought it was the AC but I turned it off and I still hear it.
Another ? I recently primered my car (done a good job too):grinyes: but my dash lights dont work and my cd player will not work either I have checked all the fuses and they are all good? Could this be my battery dying?
Thanks,
Cain

Can you crank up the car ? check your alternator belt, or go to auto zone, and check for battery and alternator.

I love how you told us you primered your car, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with anything related to your problem.

Your electrical problems don't sound like the result of a dying battery. If the bat/alt was dying then you would have dim dash lights, and you probably couldn't start it. You said you have no lights so.... :2cents:

No idea about the running water problem.
Your dash lights and cd player problem comes from a wiring problem that I'm guessing originates below the cd player, that's where alot of people fuck up their shit.

Usually when you have that running water sound is when you have your heater on or anything air circulating related. Now from what I've been told, is that when you hear water in your dash like what you are hearing it usually means that the Air conditioner resevoir is filled. And the way that things usually work is the water that is gathered up runs into the resevoir and then runs out a drain that you usually see the water marks on the ground.
The reason that you are hearing water is because the drain is plugged and to un-plug it, put the nozzle of an aircompressor up to the drain which is on the fire wall on the passanger side (near where you are hearing the water). When you blow the air into the drain line, it should un-plug and you should have water pooring out. Good Luck.
Let us know how this works out. I heard this on Car Talk on NPR (National Public Radio), a radio public station around here. I also told this to a friend of mine and he did it on his Lebaron and it did work. So like I said Good Luck.
God I'm Awesome!!!:smokin:

God I'm Awesome!!!:smokin:ned ned ned, :uhoh: If the water drain were plugged up then there would be no water movement, and thus no sound of running water (unless it was a dripping noise). It would have to find somewhere else to go. Just look underneath to see if there is water dripping out of the AC drain line. OR blow that shit out anyway, you won't hurt a thing.
Ned, you are awesome though. :smooch: Maybe you are even right on this one. If so then I will :worshippy you when it comes to diagnosing the sound of a faucet in the dash.
It is just a sound you hear in some cars(i guess, since it's hard to diagnose a fargen sound over the web  ) . Just cause you turn off the AC doesn't mean that it won't continue to drain for a little while either. Is the sound bothering you that bad? Is it causing problems? Or is it just an annoyance?(sp?)
Sometimes a lot of air in the cooling system can sound strange as it comes through the heater core, so go to MY "overheated thread" and follow the proceedure for eliminating air bubbles in the cooling system. :naughty:
BTW, why only in 1st and 2nd? :screwy: That's furkeded up!

Hum I said I primered my car because everything worked fine before that dash lights, cd player. The cd player was installed by the previous owner not me, and it worked fine up until then.
I will try to blow the stuff out but I am unsure where the plug is could someone post a pic? If not I can try and find it.
Would this help with the AC not blowing out good on the doors, it blows out good in the middle but hardly any comes out from the doors.
I have no problems starting the car that works fine, could it be where I rest the ECU, can you over rest the ECU? If there is a problem that the cd player is causing how could I fix this. I have installed cd players before and this one is hooked up correctly, I checked because it just went off one day for no reason. I have so many problems!!!

Leoman will prove to be correct on this one. The running water sound is air in the heat core and related lines. You need to get the air out of the cooling system to eliminate the noise, and more importantly, make sure you don't roast the moder. :)

:banghead:I am not seeing a drain on the fire wall of the passanger side could it be anywhere else? And I know its the thought that counts, but that was just mean to assume I am that stupid. Im not the smartest person in the world when it comes to cars (as everyone can see) but I do know how to aim vents in the car. :)

I looked at this and I will try this after I find the drain if that dont work.
Also still having trouble with my dash lights, I have never seen this before in any car. When I turn my lights on my dash lights should come on, but they dont. And the CD player will come on and off, on and off unless I put it on the radio then it will stay on untill I turn my lights on. Then it will go off, it does not keep memory (time, what station I was on, ect.). When I shut my car off and leave it over night the next day I have to turn the cdplayer back on and then back to radio. It dont bother me that bad seeing how I drove 4 years before this car without a cdplayer or radio, but I need my dash lights so I can tell how fast I am going. If I dont look at my speed I tend to drive a little to fast. And I am still on probation from where I just got my license back not long ago, and have to controll my speeding.
I have check all the fuses in the car. Also check the battery, and pulled the cdplayer out to see if it was hooked up correctly. I dont know what else to do but to take it to a shop to have it fixed, and I really dont want to do that if I can fix it myself. (No jokes about me obviously not being able to fix it myself please. I mean when I know whats wrong.)

Did you use a wiring harness when you installed the cd player or did you hard wire it in?

I've never messed with a NT car, but it doesn't matter. You are looking for a tube hanging down from the firewall in a manner that it won't drip water on anything ;) The tube will be on the passenger side, and it will prolly be coming from the condenser, since that is what it was meant to drain.

Ok I went looking around my car while I had a little free time today, and here is what I have found. This is the only tube I could find and it was behind the fender of the passenger side http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/7999/snapshot62mz.jpg I couldnt get a air compressor because my friend had to work today and my little one I use in case of a flat would not work for nothing. LoL Can you tell me if this is the one, because on another site I found a guy was having the same problem as me and they told him that the tube was on the drivers side of the car I jacked the car up and had a look around but couldnt find anything on the drivers side unless it is also under the fender but I didnt have time to take it off. Im going to use my friends compressor on the tube in the pic above unless told other wise by Saturday.
Thanks for all the help so far. Sorry to be such a bother.

:dunno: Could be. Mine is on the passenger side firewall below and slightly to the left of the fuel filter. It's easy to spot for me cause the engine is out :icon16: but it looks like it could be hard to get to.
Did you not try to get the air out of the cooling system? It looks like a good option since you don't have an air compressor.
