I Shouldn't Be Suprised, So Instead I'm Confused

So I just got back from a small venture out into the suburbs (wheeling, IL for those in the Chicago area) this fine 4th of July, minding my own damn business. I stop at burger king on my way back and as I pull out of the parking lot, a cop is going the complete opposite way of where I was turning.

So naturally the cop busts a u-turn and proceeds to pull onto my ass. Then the cop pulls into the lane next to me, and he drives right besides me for a while, then pulls ahead a lil bit, then falls back next to me. I'm thinkin "Does this joker expect me to try and race him or somethin???" Then he gets back behind me and flags me. I pull into a side street, now fully pissed.

As he walks up I hear him runnin off my list of horrible offenses: "Tinted windows, lowered suspension, no front plate, bright headlights" He takes my license and insurance and goes to the car. When he returns, he hands me a warning ticket about my plates and tint... no fine... no court date. He didn't even make me fish around in my wallet for my actual drivers license since I handed him my id card:rolleyes: So after the 15 minute wait (during which my BK got cold) the net result wa ameaningless piece of paper that he said I could ball upand throw at him. Really, he said that, I said "Thanks, but maybe later"

So the point of this rant is that I don't even know whether this pulling over should annoy me because of the petty ridiculous reason or if I should be kissing that cops ass for being cool about it in the end! But if he's so cool, why even pull me over if you know you're not gonna write a ticket? I know I should just be grateful and stfu but I've never seen such a combo of assholery and coolness by the same cop before.

I bet he thought he had more stuff on you, when he had you pulled over I bet he was talking over the radio and having them see if what you have on is illegal or not (Like the lowered suspension for one) When he learned that he didnt have anything on you, he didnt have anything else to do but let you go.

:shakehead cops are all the same nowadays. He "shouldn't" bother you anymore. I'm sure he either thought you were some drug dealer, a typical stupid kid with a riced out car along with a decent record, or wanted to give you a bad day since you most likely drive a better and nicer looking car than he does, and wanted to check you out, that's all. I would be very fuckin' pissed at that cop (assuming the tint and suspension is legal dunno about front plate requitements in your area) cuz you knew you didn't do anything wrong nor were you doing any illegal activities (transporting drugs or a fugitive for example) and your BK got cold to top it off.

cops nowadays are seeming like they're out of control. i think they've forgotten what their purpose in society is. it's actually NOT to pull people over "cuz they can" or "they felt like it" or "they're bored" or "they were doing like 6 over". the point of cops is to be there incase someone is doing something dangerous, someone else is in danger, mediation is needed, or someone is doing something overtly illegal. cop stations should change their name to city fundraising headquarters instead or something like that for all the excess tickets they give out just to get some extra bucks...

your car could of matched that of a stolen vehicle. thats happened to me once. once it got cleared the cop came up with some bs and said he wasnt going to write me a ticket so this way i would think he was being cool.

or you could've just been unfortunate enough to be the one the officer chose to pull over to show other drivers that even if it is 4th of July, they are still on duty? y'know, seeing a cop pull a car over makes other people pull their socks up a little bit....

I've been pulled over on christmas eve doing 50 on a 30 and all i was told was that I should take it easy.

Well I guess the word got out that some cop in the burbs let me off without a citation cuz the City of Chicago Dept of Revenue just sent me a ticket in the mail with pictures of me running a red light downtown on May 6!!!

The worst part is I don't even remember being downtown the day it shows especially at the time it shows. And I don't even run red lights! Well obviously I do:rolleyes: But I must have been pissed off from being stuck behind another car doing somethin stupid (stupider than running a red)

Anyways, sucks for me.
