Hello!
Mechanic just told me today that I need to have timing chain tensioner replacement because of the oil leak. Do I need to replace the whole tensioner or just oring on it?

Considering how important tension is to the life of the chain, I would replace the tensioner. I doubt that they're very expensive.

This tensioner cost $35, it is installed on two screws. Can someone tell me or point to some description, how to do this replacement. Taking off two screws is not difficult but the tensioner has a small hook which is keeping it commpresed. Will it relive itself after installation, with first start of the engine or do I have to do this manually in some way during installation.
